Good.
100% correct to ban “Junk Food” like soda.
EBT is also used to buy liquor. And illegal drugs. The trick is to buy something legal and trade it back at a discount.
It is ridiculous how abused these programs are.
SNAP, EBT and whatever else there is allows people on them to buy anything.
This is not right nor is it the original intent of the programs.
It needs to be stopped and right now.
Oh...and get illegals off the programs too.
Any socialistic program has such intent. Original state intent is always a joke.
Remember the insistence by the left that abortion was to be “safe, legal and rare”?
I have no problem with soda 🥤
Crab 🦀🦀🦀 legs yes LOL
Same with lobster 🦞🦞🦞
I’d prefer that RFK and friends
get rid of the biggest danger to
our health: ObamaDisasterCare
It RUINED American Health Care
ALL according to DEMOCRAT plan
This minor stuff is NOTHING
compared to that Monster
Get rid of mRNA manipulation
THESE are the IMPORTANT things
Well, we all know that the RINOs, although they did not vote for Zerocare to become law, voted to keep it rather than repeal it during Trump’s first term.
Good idea but they need to go even further
(allows people on them to buy anything)
Not quite. At Walmart (here in the Midwest) the registers are programmed with allowed foods - the benefits work on allowed items but will leave a remaining balance for items not allowed. Of course that doesn’t stop the thieves.
I’m not on these programs but I have seen the disallowed food items not be paid.
I believe it’s the same at all of the grocery stores in my area.
John McCain the worst offender too - I’ll have to post from the laptop 💻 when I bring it up
ソダ? そうだ。
(For English, press 6 1/2.)
RFK is correct; the purpose of EBT was never to promote unhealthy food, and all common sodas are unhealthy food. The real problem, however, is twofold. First, this is like lancing one zit on a face full of acne; it fixes the zit, and leaves the rest of the face infected. Second, people will always figure out workarounds, and they do already: e.g., sell the ebt at a discount, then take the money and buy what they really want, whether Twinkies, rotgut, or fentanyl laced crack.
Absolutely.
And that should apply to ALL junk food.
Government hand outs should absolutely come with strings attached. Want government freebies? Then take the restrictions.
I remember when they first started being able to purchase junk food, sugary cereals, cookies and sodas and it was explained away as welfare people shouldn’t feel like they aren’t able to have the other ‘luxury’ items that working people can afford.
I am sick of hearing about how medical care is racist when shown all of the health problems the welfare community has. Take away their ability to purchase junk food and prepackaged food as well as fast food and see what happens to their health.
Food stamps should be used for basic nutritional foods only. PERIOD.
When I was a kid a soda was a once in a while treat, sometimes shared with other. I still regard it as a treat, not a staple. The same applies to dining out.
It is ridiculous how abused these programs are.
Gronee’s gonna gronee.
AND remember when the use of EBT was tracked and it was found that money was withdrawn off of the cards at casinos, cruise ships and STRIP CLUBS.

Absolutely. I work in retail and the size of some of these inner city kids and their parents is unreal. And the items in their carts if the worst crap imaginable. Not good.
SNAP should accept things like vitamins, supplements and aspirin, and perhaps even bottled water.
It’s a bit too nanny state and slippery slope for me.
The singling out of sodas is also somewhat arbitrary. Orange juice has pretty much the same amount of sugar. What about Frozen Lemonade? Popsicles? Then comes Ice Cream and cookies and there is no stopping the food police when they smell the opportunity to appear they are doing something.
