Tragedy struck amid the long-awaited Oasis reunion tour after a man in his 40s fell to his death from the upper tiers of London’s Wembley Stadium Saturday, according to British authorities and multiple media reports.

Preliminary information suggests that the unidentified fan, situated in a section some 170 feet above the ground, fell as the band was nearing the end of the concert.

Police and medical personnel at the stadium responded to reports of the fatal incident just after 10 p.m. local time and declared the victim, who was reportedly “found with injuries consistent with a fall,” deceased at the scene, BBC reported.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night,” the band said Sunday in a statement reported by the outlet. “Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”

Hey, at least he didn't get caught cheating on his wife.

Britpop is dangerous people.

There’s a guy who just fell 170 feet and they surmise... “found with injuries consistent with a fall.”

Real brains at work here. I never coulda figured that out.

That sucks but if we're talking about concerts, I saw Primus last night in San Diego and, holy smokes! Was that a great show!

Never seen Primus before. My 14-y/o son is a fan and asked to go.

So glad I obliged. Now I'm kicking myself for missing them all of these years!

And, as far as I know, nobody fell to their death at the show. A whole lotta people were really high though! (Wish I were one of them but, alas, employment-based random drug testing put a damper that.)

I mean, I get it. You gotta make sure he wasn't stabbed to death and then thrown over the railing.

It was, after all, Oasis.

Les Claypool is an amazing bassist.

I love the Wynona's Got a Big Brown Beaver video. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Britpop is dangerous people.

Stone Roses did it better.

The Gallagher Brothers would agree.

Nice! My son and I saw Primus 10 days ago. Good stuff.

I missed their rise in the 90s, ended up doing a deep dive during Covid, watched a lot of shows of all the Claypool ventures.

At least he wasn’t trying to get a selfie, there was a story years ago when a woman fell over a cliff because ‘she wanted to get closer to the Sun’ and similar incidents that end in death.
