Hello and yes, it's August - my least favorite month - means high temps and hot winds which damage and destroy my garden, little to nothing blooms and getting through this month is all about maintaining what you have to get through the hot, dry winds.

Already looking forward to cooler weather...

Grapes are ready to harvest - not sure of the variety, these are wine grapes and have seeds in them - but are very sweet and juicy:

Tiger Lilies didn't last long in the heat, unfortunately:

The Tiki garden is going strong for now:

My neighbor was throwing away this plant stand:

And, my helpers are hunkering down inside where it is much cooler: B667-A1-D4-4-D6-B-4-C43-AB35-F412-A4-CA0-E6-B-1-105-c

Happy August to All!

I love the tiki stuff! I have a soft spot for tiki things. Once upon a lifetime ago, my Dad was the owner of a Polynesian restaurant that went upside down too fast. The food was fascinating, and it was just a really neat place. Too bad, but God had a different plan for my father in the long run. Still, I have very fond memories of the place.

Is your Cactus a Prickly Pear? Believe it or not, my Mom had one for many years up here in Wisconsin. She never covered it in winter, and it came back stronger every year.

It had beautiful yellow blooms in late summer.
