I lack so much knowledge and maybe this has already been addressed but why can’t Trump remove Roberts as Chief Justice. I understand he can’t just remove him but why can’t he be removed as lead and someone else be appointed Chief Justice. My opinion of Roberts is on the same par as my opinion of Ketanji Brown Jackson. Or maybe worse as she is a DEI idiot and he supposedly is smarter so he should function better.

The three branches of government created by the Constitution are separate and EQUAL.

Justices of the Supreme Court can ONLY be removed by Impeachment by the House and Conviction by the Senate.

This is the same reason the President and Vice-President can only be removed by impeachment and conviction.

The Constitution spells out how the members of the three branches are selected and how they may be removed.

I have posted this a few times here and on social media... posted it to Prez Trump and to a few of his staff - and Mark Levin - on Truth Social... I don't know why PDJT wouldn't consider it - just move Roberts to the back bench and let Justices Alito and/or Thomas discipline these unethical judicial scoundrels.

It would of course require Senate approval... but even if it failed it would serve notice to Justice Roberts: If you cross the 'swamp' at night watch out for the Hound!'

If I understand your question, you want to know if P. Trump can remove John. Roberts as Chief Justice and appoint one of the other S.C. Justices, that is, not remove him from the SC just reassign him within the supreme court?

The Presidents power with respect to the SC extends only to nominating an SC Justice, in Roberts case, he was nominated to fill the specific position of Chief Justice of the SC. All the other power...of confirmation and removal (impeachment) lies with the Senate.
