Which reminds me, yesterday afternoon we had a cluster of cells of that size blow through. Gusty winds around 70 mph. Peeled some shingles. Moving fast thankfully then after passing my place the geography forced them together and they ripped into E Wy and ended up cleaning the roads in Sturgis. I’m not sure if the town had cleaned up the mountain of trash left from the rally but if not it has to be all over SD. Bikers are lucky to have left, the winds were exceptional, but no reports of ‘landspouts’. Should have never defunded NOAA, look what happens.
It isn’t a “derecho” if there is no crop/financial damage.
I’ve been through many “simple derecho” in the Midwest over the years.
They can lay waste to the wheat crop.
Storm cells simply \dump\ their cold air out of the front of the cells.
That is likely what you saw.

Climate Change...
About eight years ago I ran into a female Lieutenant from the Public Health Service coming out of our local Publix grocery store.
Except for the Space Force, I have met someone from all of the uniformed services while they were in uniform. NOAA and Public Health Service are the hard ones.
