Bryan Kohberger, who murdered four University of Idaho students in cold blood inside their off-campus house in November 2022, was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison after pleading guilty to the killings earlier this month.

I couldn’t agree more!
Lawyers who are hired by the state are often not the best lawyers. The prosecutor choked.
useless article:
1. are the four “life’ sentences concurrent or consecutive?
2. are they life without parole, and if parole, what is minimum before parole can be considered?
It’s easy to second-guess the DA. Yes, most normal people believe this guy should get the chair. But the reality is that this plea agreement guarantees that this monster’s fate is sealed, with no further appeals. A death penalty prosecution would have meant that this guy’s death—if 12 people unanimously agreed to that sentence—would occur 20 years from now, with endless court hearing, appeals, etc. Also, these smaller DA’s offices don’t have the staffing/funding to handle death penalty cases. I pray for families, and hope that someone shivs this guy in the back as soon as he hits the state prison.
Oh brother. I do like his books, but won’t get that one.
Now Taxpayers get to support Kohberger for the rest of his life. Why not a rope and a tree and be done with him, least cost effictive.?
google AI provided the answers missing from the nearly useless NY Post article, namely:
“Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences without parole for the murders of four University of Idaho students, plus a 10-year sentence for burglary. He will also face fines and civil penalties totaling $270,000, payable to the families of the victims. The sentencing took place after Kohberger entered a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. “
now, how difficult would it have been to include that information?
He made a deal-——he pled guilty to avoid a death sentence.
Should we continue to expect the prison population carry out their own sentencing on other prisoners convicted of heinous capital crimes?
Maybe the Post was sympathetic to Kohberger.
Not to give the bastard more publicity than he's due, but that is the face of evil.
Consecutive
I think the prosecution had a tough choice
Make the families relive every horrible detail of their child’s murder over and over in public court with the POS saying he is innocent and with years of appeals
And likely outcome of life in prison
No death penalty.
Or get him to admit guilt And accept life sentences as Consecutive so each innocent child’s murder is recognized
There can be no closure
He was never going to get death penalty.
No good outcome for families but maybe this one
What he did was worse than what any other prisoner did.
I expect that prison justice will take him out when the guards are conveniently having a coffee break.
Unfortunately, the only hope for justice is if he is murdered in prison. I’ll bet he will be really popular there.
It's well reviewed.
Best book I ever red was Truman Capote's In Cold Blood, but it was criticized because of its focus on the killers. But that was the story he chose to tell.
He interviewed the killers, and they signed releases for him to use their information.
If someone interviews Kohberger, and he is slightly reimbursed for co-operation, I'm sure it would be ear-marked for the fines the Judge imposed today.
From what I've read, he is going to the Idaho supermax prison which is one of the worst in the country. He won't be mingling with any other prisoners any time soon.
They gotta have time for good planning and execution..................
I caught the tail end of the sentencing video. The judge gave the defense 30 days to appeal...
With a warning that it would violate their agreement, so BK would want to consult counsel prior to doing something that stupid.
BETCHA HE DOES NOT SEE CHRISTMAS-—MAYBE NOT EVEN HALLOWEEN
