Yes,it’s unlikely...but it is possible.And of course other bad things can happen with a gun. I could use it in self defense only to be sued by the heirs of the guy I shot. If I was required to reveal my ownership and didn’t the company might say “sorry,you’re on your own”.

Then you had better have a policy to cover you in that case. CCWSAFE or others that provide legal coverage and represent you in a court hearing. Look online for them or ask someone who has coverage. They aren't expensive and can keep you out of jail.
