The red-and-white souped-up Schwinn bicycle made famous in the 1985 film “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” will soon have a new permanent home in what is arguably one of the most unusual movie tie-ins in the history of celluloid.
The bike — which served as the MacGuffin in the Tim Burton-directed cult favorite — will be permanently displayed in the Alamo Visitor Center and Museum in San Antonio to mark the 40th anniversary of the movie’s theatrical release.

Agree. FR has become the home of curmudgeons.
“amazing to me the amount of miserable people here who jump on every thread uninformed just to bitch”
You know, once Trump got elected I thought that would wind down some, but it might actually be worse. SMH
We visited the day before it was shut down because of covid. I’m glad you enjoyed it. We did and would have done so with the bicycle. Many people here are just looking for something to bitch about. .
WNBA-related threads are the worst.
Yeah, they wouldn’t be happy unless the tour guides were monks with incense.
>> I loved the Pee Wee movies.
I enjoyed the only one I ever saw. Wasn’t the Alamo-related one though.
Mrs. Tick is a big fan.
>> I guess you didn’t see Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure?
No. I don’t get out to the movies much. ;-)
>> It’s amazing to me the amount of miserable people here who jump on every thread uninformed just to bitch.
Those uninformed people must make you very unhappy! I hope you can get over it before you turn miserable and bitchy. That’s no way to go through life.

Found this from one of my FB friends ...
The attempt to burn the Alamo is not about racial justice, it’s about the destruction of history and a trophy for their movement.
Understand they will fail and this attempt at a violent ideological coup will be crushed.
A SECOND DEFENSE OF THE ALAMO BY TEXAS PATRIOTS
“About 75-100 of us showed up along with uniformed officers and the Texas Alamo rangers. All was peaceful and scattered protestors but all in order, then literally a swarm of anarchists, Black Lives Matter, and Antifa folks showed up to take over the Alamo having marched from a local park.
The count was 1000-4000 coming for the Alamo, the police surrounded the square with us offering security to the inner perimeter.
Then all hell broke loose and they overran the grounds and were moving on the famous Alamo chapel, the visual image you all know about Texas. Open Carry Texas and This Is Texas Freedom Force ran and formed a skirmish line about 75 feet from the front of the Chapel while many police officers ran away or left to another non-tactical position. Texas patriots stood their ground and we held off the mob with maybe 30-40 Texas patriots armed but only to use force as a last resort. They shoved, threw objects, cursed, and all sorts of trash and threatened to burn the Alamo down.
It didn’t happen. We held the line and then the San Antonio SWAT team showed up and a quick reaction force of a few hundred riot police and State Troopers.
They supported us and took over our positions.
Knowing the Alamo was protected, we ended our mission, cleaned up, and went home.
No injuries or damage to our personnel or gear. It was a successful mission.
It’s up to the police now to defend the Alamo and they will be staying.
Our group TITFF worked hand in hand with the SWAT commander and San Antonio Police. We even protected the Alamo Rangers who were overwhelmed.”
Large Marge. 😂
I saw it in the theater when it came out, and my date screamed out loud during that scene.
“Paging Mr. Herman. Mr. Herman.”
Name 2 people shot in the back of the head at a theater.

Lincoln, and that dude sitting in front of Pee Wee. What’s his name?
Santa Anna was also a Mason. That is why he was spared at San Jacinto and sent back to Mexico.

One of my ancestors was born in Texas during the Republic of Texas.
We have farmed in this county since 1889. The county was cut up for settlement in 1885.
Some here on FR had ancestors who were here during the Texas Revolution.
Correct. But Santa Anna was a poor example.
The truth, Sam Houston knew only Santa Anna could sign the agreement for Freedom of Texas.
