A new K-12 online school is focusing on promoting American principles and "eliminating woke ideology."
The president of the American Virtual Academy, Damian Creamer, told Fox News Digital that he wanted to provide an alternative to parents who were fed up with liberal ideology being taught in the classroom.
"We’re really focused on giving families an opportunity to put their kids in a school that is going to respect their values and make sure that we're teaching American principles and providing a different option to families out there than what they typically run across," Creamer said.
The online-only Kindergarten through 12th grade accredited school launched in April of this year. The private nonprofit school charges $5,000-$6,000 a year, depending on the grade.
All 50 states have access to the K-12 online school because it's virtual. Eight states allow the use of vouchers and school choice scholarships to fund tuition: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
American Virtual Academy currently has 600 students enrolled and hopes to grow to 10,000 within three years.
Creamer added that American Virtual Academy also emphasizes the importance of reading, writing, and math.

The idea is sound, but Creamer sounds like a grifter.
Great idea, but 2 generations late. Now most young parents don’t even have a clue as to what non-woke means and will fight against it. But I wish them the best anyway.
Returning to education as it was in the 60s - before the lefties destroyed it in the 70s with “new” woke textbooks, like Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the American People.”
I suspect the school will reach it’s goal of 10,000 students quickly.
My son was homeschooled for a semester (wanted to return to his regular school for sports) - the online school doubled during that time and was looking at tripling its enrollment the following semester.
Back to teaching the 3 Rs.
Old textbooks never expire. Used mother’s old college texts when I could. The only thing that changed in a biology text was the pictures went from black and white to color. British Lit and Willy Shakespeare hasn’t changed over the centuries.
This is essentially a homeschool program in a box on line. It will work for some familes and some kids, but not all.
A: Not all students have the luxury of a parent to stay home to supervise.
B: Not all students have access to a stable internet connection.
C: As noted above some school districts require enrollment etc to particpate in school sports. Maine does not, but I think there would be some blowback with kids who show up just for the sports, etc.
D: Cost, not all states will fund this type of program.
They may never expire but they do not cover the critical contributions of LGBTQs to literature, physics, mathematics, culture, philosophy, and so on. How will your child learn about fisting? How will they learn about the happiness that can be found after their gender transition is finally complete? About great leaders such as Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot? How about learning situational ethics and relative morality? How about the evil nature of the white man and how he dispossessed everyone of everything and put them all in slavery or subjugation? How will your child learn about the world just from an old textbook?

Oh, yeah, did I mention the poor Palestinians?
