Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said the public "deserves to know" whether CBS’s decision to cancel "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Thursday was politically motivated.
"Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better," Schiff wrote.

And when the product is “difficult”, it is much easier to cut it than improve it.
I am certain your correct, the money didn’t make sense. Politically it creates problems either way, but why embroil yourself and company in a political hot potato for poor returns.
Name a late night show that is thriving and profitable.
They can do whatever they want ….. for whatever reason they want. Who the fuck are these people….
It’s a business decision made by an entity not funded by tax dollars. Pound sand Shifty....
THAT, my friend, is one of the cores of Fascism.
That totally defines liberals.
CBS needs to ask Schiff, Warren who the hell do you are to ask that question the FCC?.
It is clearly a business decision and is not subject to public disclosure on why it made that decision.
Well, I’d argue that he got to host a show for 12 years for political reasons.
That’s the thing with the left, everything they do is political, so then every time you try to counter something they do, they accuse you of being political.
If the Left didn't have hypocrisy, they'd have nothing.
The show was started for political reasons.
They can cancel for political reasons.
Gutfeld has a nice lead over Colbert's numbers. Colbert has been leading the pack over Kimmel and Fallon. Even though Colbert has some nice viewership numbers, it has to translate into advertising revenue for CBS. He may have the same problem Joy Reid had, a big audience but mostly older folks with a bad case of TDS that don't buy anything...
I don’t know what the ratings are, but I truly don’t know anyone who watches it.
I tried watching it, it was horrible. He isn’t funny, the politics were terrible, but that was my viewpoint. Somewhere, liberals will miss the late night Colbert show.
200 staff for an idiot?
I know worse people than can be that way all alone
Johnny Carson to Mike Wallace: Comedians and 'serious issues' (YouTube short)
Opps...bad clip. In the full clip Carson actually says it is DANGEROUS for comedians to cross that line into politics.
Kiss of death Schiff was on Colberts last night. Apparently taped before the announcement. I would never watch it, but reading about his comments it was “Trump is creating hate here and hate there....I would be surprised if the good little commie Colbert would ask Schiff for brains about his Mortgage fraud issue.
He was only on the air for “political reasons.”
