Andrea Gibson, a celebrated poet and performance artist who through their verse explored gender identity, politics and their 4-year battle with terminal ovarian cancer, died Monday at age 49.
Gibson’s death was announced on social media by their wife, Megan Falley. Gibson and Falley are the main subjects of the documentary “Come See Me in the Good Light,” winner of the Festival Favorite Award this year at the Sundance Film Festival and scheduled to air this fall on Apple TV+.

Again I am sorry she passed away from a nasty disease, but basic biology should be followed.

Lost me at ‘their’. Like we say’ ‘if (they’re) confused about ‘their’ gender how are we supposed to correctly identify them? 4 out of 5 times we get it correct.
She looks bit like guitarist Lyle Lovett, but with a girl’s face and toothy smile. It sounds somewhat as though she had an ‘arranged death’, or medically assisted in some manner.
She had several people around her at that moment, so it was not likely to have been a spontaneous get together.

Andrea has died. So maybe it is now time to refer to her life as being a biological female.
The wokesters at AP probably have sleepless nights wondering if they used a living person’s preferred pronoun in a story they submitted before going to bed.

Yeah i don’t get the whole use of “they” when referring to only one person. Is she saying she has multiple personalities?
If I use the wrong pronouns in this situation, is that like deadnaming a person?
If one knows the sex of the subject one uses the appropriate prinouns.
People do normally gather at a death bed.

Why post this? Nobody knows who she is and nobody cares. So is it all just to insult some dead person who is of no real interest to any of us? Breitbart and other sites feed enough stuff into the pipeline just to provoke attacks. Why do you feel the need to add to that?
If I remember my 7th-8th grade English class, "they, them, their" are properly used when gender is unspecified: "Go find someone in the classroom and ask them if they will come help stack the books in the library."
Does anyone ever use proper English anymore? If so, they hide it well.
