Why so many people are captured by unlikely hearsay and anonymously sourced tales of high-level criminal conspiracies rather than meaningful political issues.
Cynical Publius, a poster on X, accurately describes for me the fantastical conspiratorial posts this week about Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Jeffrey Epstein records and death as “ragebait engagement farming.” I hate mobs and mob thinking, and I think Bondi has achieved a remarkable courtroom record against a tsunami of judicial insurrection. This week the Department of Justice she heads, for example, just won its 13th Supreme Court victory in six months. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirms that the President is proud of her and considers the “continued fixation or sowing discord on [his] cabinet is baseless and unfounded in reality. On Saturday the president reiterated his strong support for Bondi. I will endeavor to explain how absurd is this furor and why this (like the ludicrous Pizzagate-like fantasy before it) has so many dupes believing in unsubstantiated nonsense.
A very detailed portrait of Epstein’s background and operations can be found in a 2003 article in Vanity Fair which reveals a shrewd operator who cultivated celebrities, business figures, politicians, scientists, and people of note to amass a considerable fortune. He was also a man with a perversion for sexual relations with underage young women. There has long been a widely held belief that he maintained a list of notable people with details of their crimes. Bondi said she had the Epstein list “on her desk,” and indicated it would be released. This was a mistake, because if the belief was that there was a roster of prominent people engaged in pedophilia, there is no such list. (If there ever had been, he most likely scrubbed it long before any criminal investigation.)

Not that I believe this, but here is a different take on the Epstein case for your consideration.
It’s because a lot of people have been sold a fantasy that if the Epstein list is released, all of the corruption in government will be purged and everything will be back to what they want without them having to lift a finger.
Load of garbage, but people don’t like having their fantasies crushed.
My fantasy is for our government to stop gaslighting us.

Too many coincidences. And the Podesta emails are really, really weird.
Not to stir the pot on this...but it’s possible that a thousand-odd characters from early 1990s...got into the ‘trap’ and have been wandering around for 25 years thinking they’d outlast the ‘problem’.
Add to it....most probably went to Hunter or the AG....laid a couple million down, and asked them to extinguish their name from the list. I doubt if the FBI holds anything much at this point, unless it was manufactured (by them).

I’ve mainly refrained from discussing this issue because none of us, and I mean zero people besides a few with first hand information know what’s really going on.

Speaking of motivations, the people trying to make this story go away are pedos.
There are points to consider.
Bonding said there was an enormous porn videos. That they were not being released because they were toxic.
That there is a difference between owning child porn and making child porn. That they were unsure as of yet whether Epstein MADE child porn. And it sounds like they are going through and documenting this porn to answer that question.

The points are mostly valid, but saying that it’s ABSURD that people believe there was a list of clients when Bondi said it was on her desk kills said points.
Rage? We know that Epstein was let off the hook the first time he was arrested. That’s a fact. You can pooh pooh the theories built around that fact, but it’s still a fact. We can be enraged that there is a double standard application of the law without diving into conspiracies.
And then there’s the title; Ragebait Engagement Farming. OK, who are the farmers? What’s their intent and agenda? If we’re all Charlie Browns, why shouldn’t we get pissed when Lucy keeps yanking the football away at the last minute. Exactly what was Clarice Feldman trying to achieve by chastising while not acknowledging the real cause behind the theories and that they don’t spring out of nothing?

Obviously if the DOJ Epstein files are fake then there is nothing to be disclosed.
In fact we do not even care to worry about punishing the people who created the fake files because—as Kash explained—that would be pursuing a conspiracy theory.

If there’s no list and they did nothing wrong, why were Ghislane Maxwell and Epstein arrested? Shouldn’t they be celebrated for being such upstanding citizens?
