LOL . There was once a South Park cartoon, showing kids in a swimming pool, and the pool gradually turned yellow......

"They pee in the pool."

Probably poop too. Many years ago I took my youngest son to a city pool where I live. He ended up with Impetigo.

You can only have things like public pools if you have a high level of public trust.

When I remember the beautiful pools and parks in my home towns and what they have degenerated into makes my heart hurt.

Now you have to be in private settings in order to enjoy these amenities . Country clubs, private schools, private organizations.

In my town here I had lobbied 30 years ago for the town to purchase an abutting property to turn it into a park for the town to enjoy. I was overruled and a small six house development was built.

I now thank my lucky stars!

It will soon be a literal cesspool.

Decades ago in college I worked at a public pool

So many rules. No open cuts or sores. No warts, etc.. No casts or slings. Everyone showered for min. 30 seconds before entering. All of this was inspected by a locker-room attendant.

No swim suits with buttons, fringe, zippers or anything that could fall into the filtration system. No running, no swearing, zero tolerance on disrespect to staff. No jumping except off diving boards. No grabbing other swimmers in any way. No food or drinks. A fight anywhere on the grounds would have meant a ban for entire season. No towels, sandals or sunglasses in the pool area.

Looking back, it was very strict. Today people wouldn’t accept it. It was a different time and a very different population.

We also shocked that pool nightly with massive doses of chlorine. Nothing could have survived

Toss a Baby Ruth in it like in Caddy Shack. That’ll clear out the pool for maintenance toot suite!

Once again it proves massive populations/big cities are certainly not key to success or happiness. In fact, they’re just the opposite.

Now we know why Carnival doesn’t particularly want the ghetto on their ships anymore.

I wouldn't go on a Carnival short-haul cruise even if it was free.

If it's a week long cruise, it should be fine.

A shining example of the leftist defective, developmentally stunted mind. These people are simply not capable of thinking anything through with any kind logic or reasoning.

I have my own plaster gunnite pool with swim-outs. Every year we hold a party on 4th of July, and on Labor Day. Attendees are all neighbors. Since I manage the pool chemistry, I do not use the pool then, and for about a week after, because I know how much the organic matter chews up the chlorine. It's gross.

I have a solar hot water shower with LP Gas backup, yet very few people use it before they jump into the pool.

To recover the chemistry after a big party it takes two shocks, an extra three pounds of chlorine, several backwashes over about five days before normal returns.

I won't use a public swimming pool.

It’s called “the tragedy of the commons”. When stuff is free or almost free you don’t appreciate it and thus don’t take care of it.

“Looks like it’s about 90% “diverse”.

It’s not ALL of them, but it’s ALWAYS them.
