It’s called “the tragedy of the commons”. When stuff is free or almost free you don’t appreciate it and thus don’t take care of it.

So true. This is why I believe Community College should continue to charge tuition, even if it is a small tuition. If it is made free, many people will sign up and not even bother to come or if they do, just disrupt.

Same miserable results will happen when everything is “free” in New York City.

Well the parks I grew up were free for up to 150 years. It wasn’t about cost. It was about people.
