Texas State Sen. Angela Paxton (R) announced on Thursday that she has filed for divorce from her husband, Texas Attorney General and Senate candidate Ken Paxton (R) after “recent discoveries.”
“Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds. I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage,” Angela Paxton wrote on X. “I move forward with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.”

Paxton said she filed for divorce on “biblical grounds,” which would primarily refer to adultery or abandonment.
The Texas Attorney General released his own statement, pointing blame at “countless political attacks and public scrutiny.”
“After facing the pressures of countless political attacks and public scrutiny, Angela and I have decided to start a new chapter in our lives,” he wrote. “I could not be any more proud or grateful for the incredible family that God has blessed us with, and I remain committed to supporting our amazing children and grandchildren. I ask for your prayers and privacy at this time.”

Ken Paxton is currently running for U.S. Senate for the seat held by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Paxton was elected attorney general in 2015. In 2023, the Texas House of Representatives impeached him over corruption allegations. He was later acquitted by the state Senate where his wife did not participate in a vote, though she attended the Senate trial.
Paxton was accused of using his position to help a real estate developer and he was also accused of an extramarital affair at the time.
KUT News out of Austin, Texas reported on Thursday that they obtained a copy of Angela Paxton’s divorce filing and it accuses her husband adultery and reveals they stopped living together in 2024.
“The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,” reads the petition, according to the report.
He has not abandoned her... so that only leaves the other option.

Regarding the records that were unsealed, as I recall, wasn’t the Ryans’ marriage in California, and therefore, their divorce (and its records) also in California?

Ken having been at the brunt of the political machine, and her seemingly going along with all the RINO garbage... it seems like their worldviews are probably no longer (if they ever were) compatible. She talks about recent revelations and biblical reasons, suggesting this is about an affair but also says, basically, that his attitude isn’t conducive to reconciliation. Maybe he’s had new adulterous relationships or maybe not but if she inherently sides with the Deep State machine politically and isn’t disgusted with the lawfare against him, then the marriage was pretty much doomed regardless of what he did or didn’t do.
It’s sort of like Pete Hegseth married to Jane Fonda during the Vietnam War. How do you hold a family together when one of the partners sides with the literal enemy?
The timing speaks volumes about her.
I’ll definitely vote for Ken but the Bushes down here will make his life miserable. He survived a previous infidelity some time past but this hurts. The media here hates Ken just like Trump.
I believe the affair already "came out" two years ago during Paxton's impeachment. I see no new information here except Paxton's wife filing for divorce.

They already impeached him for an affair and corruption. He was acquitted because they didn’t have any evidence to support the charges. Ken and Angela haven’t been living together since 2024. I always just assumed that a divorce would be coming. It’s the time and way Angela made this announcement that is the real story here. Smells of a political hit job.

Sounds like......Mrs. Paxton couldn’t have held her proceedings until AFTER the primaries? IIRC they’ve been at it for years. I want every semblance of Bush/Cornyn OUT of Texas politics!!!
