A beloved restaurant in California, that claims the invention of an iconic Los Angeles staple, has announced it will close its doors for good after 117 years as rampant crime continues to wreck havoc in LA.

Cole's French Dip, inventor of the French Dip Sandwich, announced it will permanently close on August 3 due to the rampant crime in the area that has been felt by businesses throughout LA.

'After exhaustive deliberation and numerous attempts at last ditch efforts, our beloved Los Angeles institution, Cole's, Originators of the French Dip, has made the difficult decision to close its doors,' a spokesperson said in a statement to DailyMail.com.

'The litany of reasons for closing are not unique to Cole's alone; they are affecting most independent restaurants in Los Angeles...Many Historical Independent Restaurants are struggling under the weight of these issues and have already closed, while those remaining are fighting to survive.'

Hey Lauren Taylor you idiot writer, the term is "wreak havoc" not "WRECK havoc".

Also, FORCING RETAIL BUSINESSES OUT OF BUSINESS is the GOAL of Communists such as Karen Bass. SHE (and her NY Commie friend Zohran Mamcommie) seek to SEIZE ALL MEANS OF PRODUCTION so they can RATION products equally among the masses and to DENY products to those who don't BEHAVE PROPERLY.

Allowing the street thugs to TERRORIZE CITIZENS AND BUSINESSES IS 100% INTENTIONAL and a means to an end for the purpose of transitioning to COMMUNISM.

Don’t remember exactly, but I heard it has something to do with using leftovers and making dish out of them. It was someplace other than China.

San Francisco shortly after start of gold rush. 1852? Workers entered Chinese place. It was late. They were hungry and wanted food so the chef threw together leftovers, and voila, Chop Suey.

Ha! Arby’s had a promo Sun. and Monday. Free Cheese steak to the first 100k customers with a $10 purchase. I got in on it and will give it the taste test tonight. The Wife gets the double Roast beef that and a couple Potato cakes or whatever they call them.

Be aware you generally don’t see the LA homeless.

They stay in their tents or under their tarps most of the time. These are either on the south side of the street or under shade tree or commercial building overhangs.

The LA commercial districts are struggling.

The fast-food restaurants in California post that they accept EBT.

Why commit crime when the State of California will steal on your behalf?

WIKI

A French dip sandwich, also known as a beef dip, is a hot sandwich consisting of thinly sliced roast beef (or, sometimes, other meats) on a “French roll” or baguette.

It is usually served plain but a popular variation is to top with Swiss cheese, onions, and a dipping container of beef broth produced from the cooking process (termed au jus, “with juice”). Beef stock, a light beef gravy, or beef consommé is sometimes substituted. The sandwich is most commonly served with a cup on the side of the plate, into which the sandwich is dipped as it is eaten.

Two Los Angeles restaurants have claimed to be the birthplace of the French dip sandwich: Cole’s Pacific Electric Buffet and Philippe the Original. Philippe’s website describes the dish as a “specialty of the house”, and the words “Home of the Original French Dip Sandwich” are present in the restaurant’s logo. At Phillippe’s, the roll is dipped in the hot beef juices before the sandwich is assembled, and is served “wet”, while at Cole’s it is served with a side of beef juices.
