Ping to the Narnia List.
These film plans are controversial. There is a lot of money splashing around for a film of The Magician’s Nephew - but there is a lack of artistic respect for the original novel.
Meryl Streep.
Yeah. No.
Eh, I don’t know, she’s just doing the voice I suppose? That might be OK. Not sure. Did not really love this book, but didn’t read it (actually listened to it on Audible) until a few years ago, so LOL well past the intended age range!
But, my good friend, who loves Lewis, and re-reads everything about a million times surprised me when she said she’d only read it one time as a child!
Barbie was pretty good I thought! I’d be willing to give this a try.
Signs are this will be woke crap this time around that spits on CS Lewis’ grave. If so I will treat it accordingly.
No.
No, not just no.
Hell no.
L
Meryl Streep is still alive?
Let’s do whatever Disney is doing. That seems to be working well. Yeah....
Whatever this thing is will be a woke abomination, guaranteed.
The voice of Aslan demands an authoritative but calm masculine voice. I’m not sure there’s anybody in contemporary Hollywood who could make it work. Sam Elliot perhaps.
Can anyone think of a “legitimate” reason to cast Meryl Streep as Aslan (a distinctively-MALE character/lion)?
Oh - we are still stuck on “woke”.
Waiting to hear that either Lady Gaga or Katy Perry has been added to the cast. Heavy over-acting-bordering-on-parody on the Menu.
Another 100 million dollar or more sure loss of money. At what time, do studios stop deliberately losing money?
Typical mocking and rebellion against Jesus Christ. There’s no self-awareness with these people.
I wouldn't have even minded that they are calling this the "first book", when it is in fact the last book, because we don't need a remake of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, even if it has been a couple of decades already. (kills me to type that)
So, yes, I hope it bombs, and then maybe we'll get "real" movies in another 5 or 10 years.
That said, 50-50 chance that I'm curious enough to check it out on streaming if it ends up on a service that I'm already paying for. Otherwise, whether it gets to Syfy.
Actually, it probably won't even be Ten commandments. They'll probably chisel out a couple or more.
Don’t misgender Aslan.
