Guadalupe River in Kerrville transforms from docile into a raging behemoth. The raging flood waters eventually reach the top of the Center Point bridge. No music, just the sounds of the flood.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
A house floating down the river...
There's a reason they are called "flash floods", they can happen so fast, warnings don't matter.
“”Why were people and dwellings allowed in the flash flood zone?””
Dwellings, hell. They keep showing a video of VERY high-dollar 2-3-story condos or homes completely surrounded by water right now. A lot of money was spent on construction and building exclusive “dwellings” right there.... in that flood zone. I suppose the buyers figured it hadn’t happened yet, so that meant that it wouldn’t happen. Surprise.
Amazing that Mr Gavins was at the exact location, right as this wave of wall came crashing through, in Kerrville.
These flash floods, hitting these ‘prime’ properties are nothing new.
There are people on Lake McQueeny whose waterfront homes are located in flash flood zones.
Many have had to rebuild, over and over...every time a flash flood hits.
No flood insurance, but, they rebuild out of their own pockets. Luckily for them ... it’s not an often occurrence.
The price is worth it, to them, I guess, to have the waterfront/lake properties during non-storm times.
Could be the same with these condo owners. 🤷🏼♀️

Well, I can’t even wrap my brain around that kind of wealth and that kind of “resilience”. And as much as I love being around the water (lakes, rivers, ocean, etc.)... I couldn’t live that way... losing my home over and over again. Once would be way too much. Even in my younger years, I don’t think my nerves could take it...lol.
The initial wave of the Flash Flood took place between 4:03 & 5:30 am.
Agree!
Hubby and I visited friends who showed us where different floodwaters had reached, in their downstairs area.
They were trying to ‘sell’ us on the area!
After the visit ... we both asked, Why? Why would you KEEP rebuilding??
As you say ... we couldn’t live that way, either .... to tormenting!
I think that was in Hunt TX ... this vid is further down river, in Kerrville, if I’m reading correctly.....about 13 miles away.
It still had to go through Ingram, before getting to Kerrville.
More than likely, the videographer is a resident of Kerrvile or the surrounding area; given that they have been through this every few years, I would imagine many of the local people know where the floods come to a head during heavy rains...
Wow. Powerful video of the flood!
Could be.
He timed it, perfectly, as it made it around the bend ....
Here’s a timeline of when the water was hitting and where ... (I know....from the very biased NPR) ....

Maybe we should screengrab it before it’s disappeared.
Well, that’s one way to clean up forest debris.
Those trees went down like boiled broccoli.
How high is that bridge?
Surprised it withstood
What are those blue things? 50 gal drums? for size
This is surreal.
Surreal
At least the house found a nice resting spot. Needs a new address.
The number of idiots driving across that bridge was incredible.......
Nature is soooooo powerful.
That video took my breath away; not an easy feat. Thanks for posting.
A ping out to the Texas Ping list, founded by Windflier.
A late Ping! to the Texas ping list, concerning a YT video of a flash flood rising and the speed it comes up.
Another special Texas summer edition for your perusal.
As always, please FReepmail me if you want on or off the Texas Ping list.
Blessings, and stay cool!
The video is 37 minutes long, and it goes from a muddy river bottom to topping the Center Point TX Hwy 430 (?) bridge.
The house floats to the bridge at about 33:00 or so.
This is heart breaking.
Thank you for the updates and ping!
Tragic for our fellow families of TEXAS!
Prayers continued for All!
