Russia’s former Transport Minister Roman Starovoit who was fired by President Vladimir Putin has shot himself dead, Russian authorities said Monday. According to Kremlin-controlled media, Starovoit was found dead with a gunshot wound in Odintsovo near Moscow. Officials said they believe it was a suicide. “The circumstances of the incident are being established. The main version is suicide,” Russia’s Investigative Committee Official Svetlana Petrenko said in a statement, as speculation swirled in Moscow.

Doesn’t make sense to fire a guy and then order his execution, as all that does is make Putin the prime suspect. You do one or the other: A ‘trial’ (like for Jan 6 tourists), or have Secret Police (equivalent of the Biden DOJ) take care of him, similar to Seth Rich or Jeffrey Epstein.
My guess is that he didn’t like the thought of spending the rest of his years in a Russian jail.
