Freddy the beloved NYC bodega cat is killed by dogs as their female owner, pals ‘cheered’: activists

A beloved Manhattan bodega cat was horrifically mauled to death by two pit bulls last week as the dogs’ heartless female owner and pals “watched and cheered,” animal rescuers claimed to The Post.

Tragic adorable tabby Freddy was attacked around 9 p.m. Friday outside Michelle Flowers, where he lived, in Washington Heights, according to volunteer rescuers with Cat Collective NY, who said they looked at surveillance video and spoke with witnesses.

The pit bulls’ owner and pals then smoked, danced and ate food while taking photos and mimicking the grisly scene, the group told The Post.

“Someone deliberately set dogs on a defenseless cat while people watched and cheered,” said Dan Rimada of Bodega Cats of New York — calling the incident pure “evil.”

While the store was closed and its owners were home during the attack, local residents who saw the gruesome event alerted a local feeder with Cat Collective, which in turn informed the flower-shop-bodega owners, who had rescued Freddy in 2020.

I have a relative who owns a couple of Pit Bulls and they are just big babies. When my relatives have visitors, she puts a muzzle on their mouths, just to be safe. No problems.

Her son just became a dad. He and his wife have a Pit Bull who they love very much. Their daughter is three months old and they haven’t had a problem with the dog. Of course, they are extremely cautious and responsible when it comes to keeping the newborn safe.

My point is, when it comes to Pit Bulls, it’s how they are raised. Obviously, this sadistic owner raised her dogs to be vicious and dangerous. That’s the fault of the owner. What happened was absolutely terrible and the dog owner should be held to,account.

Don’t judge all Pit Bulls because some were raised by vicious and irresponsible owners.

This article reported on an extremely bad episode. However, in general other breeds are loving too and less dangerous to strangers.

Well, technically it does me too. The only think about it every 6 to 8 months or so. And I use my human intellect don’t let it affect me at all. :-)

That reminds me of the Andy Griffith Show when Opie killed a mother bird with his slingshot and ended up raising her baby birds until they could leave the nest.
