A British teenager jailed in Dubai for having sex with a 17-year-old girl has been released and is back in the UK.
Marcus Fakana, now aged 19, was sentenced in December to a year's imprisonment after a consensual relationship with the girl, who is also British, while on holiday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The age of consent in the country is 18.
The girl's mother reported Fakana to the UAE authorities after seeing messages between the two when she had returned to the UK.
Fakhana, from Tottenham in north London, has received a royal pardon from Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, campaign group Detained in Dubai has said.

How is it that these two had the money to travel to and lodge in Dubai, but didn’t know any better than to not be caught “en flagrante” there? The girl’s mother seems to have thrown caution out the window, tattling on her daughters activities. Both could have gotten locked up for quite a while. It reads like the girl was not punished.
You don’t go to Dubai for your teenage rendezvous. Even Izmir, Turkey may be a better choice.
Why anyone would want to go to Dubai is beyond me.

Since the sins are deeply hidden, its the family friendly part of Vegas, DisneyLand, Safari, a Med all inclusive resort all at a price point cheaper than dirty graffitied and tatted Spain. It catches the class that does not know how to travel properly or is foolish enough to bring a horny teen instead of send the bitch to camp.
But are they really any worse than the UK where you get JAILED if you complain too much about you daughter getting raped?
Mom overreacted, in my opinion. I don’t even have children, but I enjoyed my teen years, in the same way most kids do while still in high school. My parents kind of expected this as a sign their son was growing up. So long as I was respectful.

Brits are probably scratching their heads, since the UK age of consent is 16, same as in AL and MS.

More likely the girl’s mum (they are Britts) didn’t like him, and made sure the romance didn’t go far.
