Almost 62 years after President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the Central Intelligence Agency has revealed that one of their officers had contact with Lee Harvey Oswald before and after the November killing, documents released this week and first reported by Axios have revealed.
The documents concern a CIA officer who specialized in psychological warfare known as George Joannides. The crux of the revelation is in a document dated Jan 17, 1963 revealing that Joannides had an alias and fake driver’s license under the name “Howard Gebler.” Prior to Thursday's document revelation, the CIA had denied that “Howard” was in fact Joannides, who had been in contact with an anti-communist activist group working against Cuba’s dictator Fidel Castro.
The CIA had claimed for decades their operatives had no connection with the Cuban Student Directorate, which is where the activists published Oswald’s pro-Castro writings following the assassination. The student group was often referred to as DRE for its Spanish-language initials. Jefferson Morley, an expert on the assassination told the outlet, “The cover story for Joannides is officially dead. This is a big deal. The CIA is changing its tune on Lee Harvey Oswald.”
The CIA’s Miami Division oversaw “all aspects of political action and psychological warfare” and was where Joannides served as deputy chief. The agency funneled money to the anti-Castro student group and covertly directed their actions. In August of 1963, four DRE members got into an altercation with Oswald in New Orleans while he was passing out pro-Castro “Fair Play for Cuba Committee” literature. Weeks later, Oswald debated DRE activists on local television, giving his communist leanings more public exposure. Both incidents were portrayed in Oliver Stone’s 1991 film “JFK.”

They were going to tell us the whole truth. Then they found out that the Truth is exactly what the conspiracy people always said it was. The CIA assassinated JFK. Everybody knows it. But it turns out they still don’t want to come right out and say it.
To be fair the Director of the CIA (McCone) was a JFK appointee and ally.
The conspirators within and outside the CIA kept McCone out of the loop—so technically it was a rogue operation within the CIA.
What we can know is that it is our government that institutionalizes lies and should never be believed, it appears.

George Joannides lied to the congressional committee investigating the JFK assassination in 1977. The CIA made no attempt to correct his testimony. No way to find out now, Joannides has been dead for 35 years. This was a planned hitjob at the highest levels of the federal government, why else explain why the Secret Service was out drinking in Ft Worth until 3 am, did not respond to the shots in the Plaza by jumping off the running boards of the car following JFK and they had 6.8 seconds between the first and last shot, and just why Gerald Ford, as a member of the Warren Commission, admitted right before he died that he had altered the autopsy drawing of JFK’s back to move the bullet hole several inches upward, in the back of the neck, to support the farce known as the single bullet theory.

That the CIA would not have been heavily engaged with a US Marine working in intelligence who defected to the USSR, married a Soviet citizen, AND THEN CAME BACK?

Jack Ruby (real name was Rubenstein and he was Mafia-connected in his birthplace Chicago and known to have New Orleans mafia connections) was the key but Dallas police and FBI never got him to talk. Ruby had the lease on the School Book Depository and the keys. The building was vacant, so how did Oswald get in there to shoot and leave the rifle behind? Ruby unlocked the door, that’s how. Ruby was supposed to take care of the rifle. A well-known Dallas attorney, Carroll Journegon (sp?) testified to the FBI that he overheard Ruby and Oswald planning the hit at the Carousel Club (next door to the SBD and using the building as the sniper nest but the FBI didn’t believe the story.
