US Jews contribute half of all donations to the Democratic Party
The Jerusalem Post ^ | Updated: JANUARY 14, 2018 10:55 | JEREMY SHARON

A new study argues that the large majority of American Jews have a deep-seated notion that being Jewish is inextricably bound to being liberal.

That idea took hold after the large waves of Jewish immigration to the US in the late 19th century, according to the study’s author, American history professor Gil Troy.

American Jewish liberalism and association with the Democratic party is showing no signs of abatement, despite many predictions to the contrary since Ronald Reagan’s presidency, according to Troy’s research, which is being published by the Ruderman Family Foundation's Program for American Jewish Studies at the University of Haifa.

I know an article published and updated some 7 years ago, and it's from the Jerusalem Post.

Call me anti-semitic, but the radical islamist mamdani couldn't have made it over the top in NYC, without radical democrat jewish support.

Flame away.

On the other hand, one of my dearest friends is a Christian fundamentalist who used to speak in tongues and is an over-the-top, passionate liberal. Just barely handles that I’m the same over Trump.

Absolutely! I know many atheistic Jews who view leftism as their tribal creed.

“”””I don’t believe I’ve ever had a Jewish friend that WASN’T liberal.””””

Just on the west border of Minneapolistan is St Louis Park.
It has always been called St JEWISH Park due to the very heavy Jewish population. A year or two ago they elected a young Somali muslim as mayor.

And I wholeheartedly agree with everyone who doesn’t understand it. It makes absolutely no sense. And it isn’t in the class of things that can be discussed, much less argued about. I refuse to discuss religion with anyone. It’s getting to the point where that is extending to politics as well.

Almost every US district judge who ruled against President Trump is Jewish. Weird.

Not much has changed in seven years. Last fall, 80% of America's Jews voted for Kamala.

To me, this is astonishing, because Judaism is not a left-wing religion.

Jews have historically been persecuted throughout history and although the State of Israel fights back, most Jews have a victim mentality and are thus natural fits for the Democrats, no matter how much the Democrats continue to $hit on them. It’s actually classic abuse behavior where the person or group being abused, tolerates it because they don’t feel they deserve better. This is true of most “victimized” groups in the Democrat coalition, notably blacks and single women. The Hispanics and Asians don’t seem to be as susceptible. The Jews in essence are the first balkanized ethnic group in the Democrat coalition.

Socialism/Communism is definitely a big factor in their support of Democrats, but I think their hatred of Christians who try to convert them (and their kids) is also a big factor. If the Democrats are willing to ‘keep Christians in check’, then they’re fine, if the Democrats bring in millions of Muslims, well that objective is better met.

Anyway, my thoughts, feel free to flame-away.

That’s because to many urban and suburban Jews liberalism IS being Jewish. It became ingrained in their faith that you can’t be a good Jew if you aren’t liberal.

Too bad they miss this point. From the River to the Sea also means from the East River to the Hudson.

It's frustrating. Imagine Moses’ frustration when he returned from the mount to find the Israelites worshiping a golden calf.

Politically conservative Jews are mostly religious and live in walking distance sized neighborhoods and concentrate in occupations amenable to Sabbaths and holidays. Most Americans have little personal contact with such except maybe for ubiquitous Chabad-Lubavitch representatives who are very much politically and culturally conservative.

No need for flaming. It has been well known and well documented, since biblical times.... that some Jews are extremely “wrong-headed”. Why would that have changed over the decades and millennia? In fact, bible prophecy says that kind of thinking only gets worse in the end days.

And keep in mind... that most of “those Jews” are leftists first ... and Jews dead last. Their highest priority is the leftist agenda.

Nothing to flame at. I caught on to this phenomenon years ago and labeled them anti semite Jews. It’s like they have a death wish for their own kind, something falling under the heading of suicidal.

Agreed. All of my Jewish friends are Reform, with some having conservative families. Thus a quick stop to my dating a perfectly BEAUTIFUL man in college. He would have been disinherited by his conservative family. I don’t believe I’ve ever held a conversation with a conservative Jew.

"The reason for such intense scrutiny is the outsize contributions of Jewish donors to US political campaigns, with Jewish donors contributing a whopping 50% of funds received by the Democratic Party and 25% to the Republican Party, Troy says."

What is the source for that claim? Jews are 2.4% of the U.S. population. This means the remaining 97.6% of the U.S. population donate the remaining 50% to the Democrats and 75% to the Republicans. That sounds a bit far fetched.

That 2% donates half of Democrat money but also maybe 25% of Republican money. Most likely soon or already replaced with Muslim money.
