So nice you posted it twice?

Anyway, this is a tragedy and hits close to home for me since both of my sons went to Scout camp out there in Hunt, TX for several years in a row.

There are lots of camps for young people in the area.

As he says: “ From start to breach at center point bridge on 480.”
Hard to believe it rose at least 20+ feet to over the roadway in just 37 minutes. Reminiscence of a slow motion rise in water during the 2011 Japanese Tsunami.

That rapid rise of water is not that unusual in the Hill Country.

It comes up fast and a wall of water down the rivers and creeks.

Wasn’t it like 10 years or so ago that the Guadalupe River flood was even higher than this time???

If so, was this Camp Mystic flooded in this bigger flood?

If Camp Mystic was flooded in the last big flood, then why were they still allowed to be a summer campsite?

The river is 670 milies long. I am sure there were lots of floods along the river over the years. I have seen no infromation that there was a big flood near Kerrvile previously.

For full details on the river check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadalupe_River_(Texas)
