Mr. President, we know you understand that the primary obstacle to peace in Ukraine is Russia’s aggression.
You said you were “disappointed” in the conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and that you “don’t think he’s looking to stop.”
Putin again insisted he was unwilling to commit to a ceasefire until the “root causes” of the conflict were addressed.
For Vlad, the “root cause” is the existence of Ukraine.
He followed your call with the largest drone and missile strike of the war, killing at least one.
So why, Mr. President, is your administration punishing Ukraine?
The Pentagon has halted the anti-missile and drone weapons needed to protect the civilians of Kyiv. You remember the desperation on the face of the Ukrainian reporter you touchingly spoke to in the Netherlands, her fears for her husband and her family.
Why are we threatening to abandon her?
There is a belief, being pushed by twisted ideologues, that helping Ukraine is somehow hurting the United States, and not in our best interest. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
Officials claim we have a weapons shortage, but many of these arms were already allocated — some were already in Poland.
Ukraine is paying for them, partly from seized Russian assets and European grants, a stimulus for our industries to make more.
In fact, our military can use that money — and the intelligence it is gathering from Ukraine’s successful resistance — to make better drones and anti-missile technology.
It builds the foundation of the Golden Dome.
But most importantly, Ukraine’s fate sends a message to the world about America. Russia is not an economic superpower to be unlocked. It is a dying terrorist state. Putin is willing to spend the blood of his people in a last grasp for empire.

“The United States and NATO assured Russia that Ukraine would never be part of NATO to get a desired commitment from Russsia. That pledge was broken which Putin used to justify his invasion of Ukraine.”
“I was in those meetings, and Gorbachev has [also] said there was no promise not to enlarge NATO,” Zoellick recalls. Soviet Foreign Minister, Eduard Shevardnadze, later president of Georgia, concurred, he says. Nor does the treaty on Germany’s unification include a limit on NATO enlargement. Those facts have undermined one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s justifications for invading Ukraine — that the United States had agreed that former Warsaw Pact nations would never become part of the North Atlantic security alliance.”

I agree, I think Ukraine (and us) would be well out of it at the cost of two provinces. However, according to reports about Putin's last phone call with Trump, it appears that Putin says, or implies, he will be satisfied with nothing less than the whole of Ukraine.
As Ronald Reagan once said, "if they will not see the light let them feel the heat."
Uk? Get with the times, you batch of commie trash. We need to support Iran now. Haven’t you heard?
The base is overwhelmingly opposed to doing so.
No one that supports MAGA would post this or suggest it.
But, all we all know Zeepers are the enemy of MAGA.
Only imbecile can't figure that out.
The only way the war ends is for us to completely cutoff Ukraine and for Trump to tell Zelensky to take any deal he can get.
What’s this “we” crap?
First the New York Times editorial board can donate their IRAs and go join the Ukraine National Guard. Than we’ll talk. Oh yeah, the Zeepers can too.
He’s a Uke intel op, like several obvious others. He only comes up to post after raping some Russians in the basement.
Guess I missed the amendment that moved the federal government's constitutional treaty making powers from the President and two thirds of the Senate, down to the House of Representatives:
"HeThe Speaker of the House of Representatives shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur..."
Too bad - I guess President Trump's hands are tied, and we better get ready for "nuclear combat toe to toe with the Rooskies"!
;^)
For Vlad, the “root cause” is the existence of Ukraine. As usual, that's fake news. The root cause(s) included the unwillingness of the UN to investigate the bio warfare labs the US parked in the Ukraine - Putin destroyed those in the opening days of the war.
Another of the root causes is NATO's intention to park Western military assets in striking range of Moscow. Ukraine and its NATO handlers insist that a substantial Western military encamp in Ukraine - which is what Putin has been resisting from the start. So Ukraine/NATO persist in trying to set up military leverage within striking range of Moscow, only now they claim it's for 'peace keeping'. I can see why Putin is not falling for that ruse. If 'the existence of Ukraine' means it's continued service to NATO as a 'stalking horse,' then there could be a shred of validity to that initial statement I quoted. In which case, if NATO/Ukraine stop trying to camp aggressive Western military assets in range of Moscow, then the Ukraine will no longer be a threat and can have the positive trade relations with Russia that Moscow has been seeking. But NATO exists alongside the UN and the WEF to harness the world's countries under one yoke, and Russia doesn't want to be shackled like that. For that matter, America doesn't want to be a vassal of the globalists either.
Another Vietnam? This has all the makings of so.
Is your side declaring war on President Trump on Monday?
Bad move, tough sh*t.
My family has been involved in all of America's wars since WW II {we didn't get here until the early 1900's} and I've seen enough blood from our soldiers to not want more.
The world is a shit hole, but let NATO protect Ukraine because that is their problem.
“”””let NATO protect Ukraine because that is their problem.””””
Look up which countries are NATO.
Trump is to get us OUT of wars. To include not throwing never-ending good money after bad.
Ukraine is not a NATO member. If Europe wants to arm and fund the Uke war, let them have at it.
😂😂 Hilarious!
We’re not interested in becoming embedded in another Viet Nam-esque proxy war with Russia, thank you!
Seventy-nine percent of Republican Party supporters in the United States oppose continuing aid to Ukraine in its defense against Russia, The Wall Street Journal reported on April 6, citing the results of its latest survey.
In contrast, 83% of Democratic Party supporters said they back continued assistance to Ukraine.
Tell Trump to tell Little Zee that it's all over.
I hear there’s lots o’ widders over there that the Azov press gang Jodies are keeping warm for the Ukie guys at the front.
