——>The New Testament never commands Christians to keep the seventh-day Sabbath.
Again, YOUR CHURCH HAS ALREADY SPOKEN ON THE SABBATH/SUNDAY ISSUE. They say that if one follows the bible, they are commanded to keep the 7th-day-Sabbath. If you follow the authority of the Papacy, you will keep the day THEY changed, which is Sunday, for which there is absolutely no command in the bible.
“Most Christians seem to think that everything starts fresh in the New Testament but this could not be further from the truth. Just because the Translators divided the Bible into two books called the Old and New Testaments does not mean everything starts again. Absolutely everything from the Old Testament continues into the New Testament as if it was just one book not divided, and the only changes between the Old and the New Testaments are what we are specifically told has changed. And so you also do not establish if one of the Ten Commandments still exists in the New Testament by looking for it being repeated. To the contrary, you have to look to see if there is an unmistakable instruction that says a Commandment is gone or changed and if scripture is silent then it still exists. Are we told the Mosaic law and all its sacrifices ended at the cross? Yes! Are we told the moral law has ended or any part of it such as the Sabbath? No! To the contrary, Scripture is clear that all Ten Commandments remain. God does not work on assumptions and especially on something as important as His Moral law such as His Sabbath. If a Commandment of God was changed then the Bible would be SCREAMING the change at us.”

——>Yes, Genesis 2:2-3 shows God rested on the seventh day, and Jesus, as a Jew under the Mosaic Law, observed the Sabbath (Luke 4:16)
The Sabbath was made for MAN (mankind), not specifically for the Jew. And, when preincarnate Jesus Christ set aside the Sabbath in Genesis, HE WASN’T A JEW, 2500 years before Sinai.
And yet again, YOUR CHURCH HAS ALREADY SPOKEN ON THE SABBATH/SUNDAY ISSUE. They say that if one follows the bible, they are commanded to keep the 7th-day-Sabbath. If you follow the authority of the Papacy, you will keep the day THEY changed, which is Sunday, for which there is absolutely no command in the bible.

Daniel 7:25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, AND THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
The Little Horn/Antichrist power will think to change God’s times and laws. The Papacy is that power.
To: Philsworld
The fact that I believe the Papacy is the Little Horn/Antichrist of Prophecy and that the literal nation of Israel is no longer the chosen of God, has nothing to do with hate. I only asked you a question. If you refuse to answer, no hard feelings. Have a great day.
It means you have rejected the Prophets’ and Apostles’ teaching so I cannot follow you or Ellen White.
Acts 2:36-40
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. [40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. [37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? [38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Jeremiah 30:16-17
Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

No more or less that literally every Protestant Reformer, who existed BEFORE me or Ellen White (some by hundreds of years).
And, answering a bible question isn’t following me or Ellen White. You’ve done it for many you’ve disagreed/debated with over the years on FR. The question I ask was purely factual and has absolutely nothing to do with Ellen White.
Like I said, I only asked you a question. If you refuse to answer, no hard feelings. Have a great day.

Again, not according to your own church.

Does the APOSTLE Luke advocate for Sunday-keeping here, some 30 years after Christ’s death?
Luke 23:55The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed. 56Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
Does Luke say “according to the OLD commandment, which no longer applies, because we all now keep Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection” ???
Nope.

Titus 3:8-11
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

My question ultimately leads to the identity of the Little Horn/Antichrist power and validates God’s prophetic times. One would think God would want that information revealed. Your excuse for not answering the purely factual question is nonsensical.

Phil
The fact that I believe>> the literal nation of Israel is no longer the chosen of God, has nothing to do with hate.
Phil, your claim that the papacy is the Little Horn/Antichrist and Israel is no longer God’s chosen, paired with a polite dodge, reeks of Ellen G. White’s anti-Catholic and replacement theology venom, despite your “no hate” disclaimer.
Your Seventh Day Adventist non-Christian Beliefs are easily disproven
- Papacy as Little Horn/Antichrist: No Scripture names the papacy as the Little Horn (Daniel 7:8) or Antichrist (1 John 2:18)—these fit Antiochus (1 Maccabees 1:41-54) or Nero (Tacitus, *Annals*, 15.44). Daniel 7:25’s “times and laws” aligns with their persecutions, not Sunday worship, which is apostolic (Acts 20:7, CCC 2174-2176). White’s *The Great Controversy* (p. 50) invents this papal link—produce a verse, or it’s your hate-fueled myth.
- Israel No Longer Chosen: Your rejection of Israel contradicts Romans 11:1-2, “God did not reject his people,” and 11:25-29, promising their future ingathering. Replacement theology, echoed by White, ignores God’s covenant (Genesis 17:7). The Church, Christ’s body (Ephesians 1:22-23), includes Gentiles but doesn’t erase Israel—your view distorts Scripture.
- No Hard Feelings?: Your politeness masks Adventism’s anti-Catholic agenda. White’s lies (1856, 1844 failures; *Testimonies*, Vol. 1, p. 131-132) fuel division, not love (John 17:21). I’ll answer your question if you clarify it—otherwise, your evasion is noted.

Phil, Prince of Dim Light, your Adventist outburst, branding Cardinal Gibbons a liar and clinging to a website to claim Catholics reject the seventh-day Sabbath, is a desperate flail rooted in Ellen G. White’s anti-Catholic venom. Let me refute your argument with Scripture, history, and theology, exposing Adventism’s satanic lies and urging you to repent.
Detailed Refutation
- Cardinal Gibbons and Church Teaching: You call Cardinal James Gibbons a liar, likely referencing his *Faith of Our Fathers* (1876), which explains Sunday worship as fulfilling the Sabbath’s purpose. This aligns with the *Catechism of the Catholic Church* (CCC 2174-2176), rooted in Christ’s resurrection (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2). Gibbons didn’t lie—he reflected apostolic practice, not a Sabbath rejection. Your accusation is baseless slander.
- Website Claim: Jesus Fulfilled the Law Means Keeping the Sabbath: Your link (https://www.the-ten-commandments.org/jesus_fulfilled_the_moral_law.html) argues Matthew 5:17 (“I have not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it”) mandates Sabbath-keeping. Nonsense. “Fulfill” means Christ completed the Law’s purpose (Romans 10:4), not perpetuated its rituals. Colossians 2:16-17 calls Sabbaths “shadows” of Christ; Hebrews 4:9-11 names Him our rest. No New Testament verse commands Saturday worship for Christians (Romans 14:5-6, Acts 15:28-29).
- Catholic Sunday Worship: Catholics honor the Sabbath’s principle—rest and worship—on Sunday, the Lord’s Day, celebrating Christ’s resurrection (Mark 16:9, Acts 20:7). This is apostolic, guided by the Church’s authority (Matthew 16:18-19, CCC 2174-2176), not a rejection of God’s will. Early Christians, like Ignatius (*Letter to the Magnesians*, c. 110 AD, Ch. 9), worshipped on Sunday, not Saturday.
- Adventist Sabbath Obsession: Your insistence on the seventh-day Sabbath as mandatory stems from White’s *The Great Controversy* (p. 605-612), predicting a Sunday law as the mark of the beast. This lacks biblical support—where’s your apostolic mandate? Your dogma is White’s 19th-century fiction, not divine decree.

Adventism preaches a different Christ (where Jesus is the angel Michael) and hence is a false religion
Phil, your Gibbons lie and website rant are debunked—Sunday worship fulfills the Sabbath biblically, not via men’s commands. Phil, Prince of Dim Light, your Adventist rant, shouting that the Catholic Church admits changing the Sabbath to Sunday and clinging to a website to claim the Ten Commandments, including the Sabbath, remain unchanged, is a desperate rehash of Ellen G. White’s anti-Catholic venom. I’ll crush your arguments with Scripture, history, and theology, exposing Adventism’s satanic lies and demanding you repent.
a detailed Refutation
- Church Admission on Sabbath/Sunday: You allege the Church admits Sunday replaces the Sabbath by papal authority, citing no official document—likely twisting Cardinal Gibbons’ *Faith of Our Fathers* or a misread Catechism (CCC 2174-2176). The Church teaches Sunday fulfills the Sabbath’s spiritual purpose, rooted in Christ’s resurrection (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2), not a papal invention. Early Christians, like Ignatius (*Letter to the Magnesians*, c. 110 AD, Ch. 9), worshipped on Sunday, predating any “change” myth.
- No Biblical Command for Sunday?: You claim no biblical command exists for Sunday worship. False. Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 show apostolic practice on the “first day,” and Revelation 1:10 calls it the “Lord’s Day.” The Church, with Christ’s authority (Matthew 16:18-19), regulates worship (Matthew 18:18, CCC 2174-2176), fulfilling the Sabbath (Colossians 2:16-17), not defying it.
- Continuity from Old to New Testament: Your website (https://www.the-ten-commandments.org/ten_commandments-new_testament.html) argues the moral law, including the Sabbath, continues unless explicitly changed. Misguided. Matthew 5:17 (“fulfill the Law”) means Christ completed its purpose (Romans 10:4), not perpetuated rituals. Hebrews 8:13 calls the Old Covenant “obsolete,” and Galatians 3:24-25 says the Law was a tutor until Christ. Silence on repeating the Sabbath doesn’t preserve it—its fulfillment in Christ does (Hebrews 4:9-11).
- Sabbath in the New Testament: You demand proof the Sabbath is gone. Colossians 2:16-17 deems Sabbaths “shadows” of Christ; Romans 14:5-6 grants worship-day freedom; Acts 15:28-29 omits Sabbath for Gentiles. No verse mandates Saturday worship for Christians—your claim hinges on White’s fiction (*The Great Controversy*, p. 605-612), not Scripture.

Phil, Prince of Dim Light, your Adventist obsession with the Sabbath, claiming it was made for all mankind by a preincarnate Jesus and that the Catholic Church admits changing it to Sunday, is a desperate cling to Ellen G. White’s anti-Catholic venom..
Here's a detailed refutation
- Sabbath for Mankind, Not Jews: You assert Mark 2:27 (“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath”) and Genesis 2:2-3, with a preincarnate Christ setting it aside, prove it’s for all mankind, not just Jews. Misguided. Genesis 2:2-3 notes God’s rest, but no pre-Sinai command mandates weekly Sabbath-keeping for humanity—its formal observance begins with Israel’s covenant (Exodus 31:16-17: “a lasting covenant” for Israelites). Mark 2:27 emphasizes human benefit under the Law (Luke 4:16), fulfilled by Christ (Matthew 5:17). The New Testament never mandates Saturday for Christians (Colossians 2:16-17, Romans 14:5-6).
- Church Admission on Sabbath/Sunday: You repeat that the Church admits Sunday replaces the Sabbath by papal authority, implying a biblical command for the seventh day. False. The *Catechism* (CCC 2174-2176) roots Sunday in Christ’s resurrection (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2), fulfilling the Sabbath’s purpose, not inventing it. Early Christians, like Ignatius (*Letter to the Magnesians*, c. 110 AD, Ch. 9), worshipped on Sunday, predating any “change” myth. No official document (e.g., Trent, 1545-1563) supports your claim—your assertion is White’s distortion.
- No Sunday Command?: You claim no biblical command exists for Sunday. Wrong. Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 show apostolic Sunday worship, and Revelation 1:10 calls it the “Lord’s Day.” The Church, with Christ’s authority (Matthew 16:18-19), regulates this (Matthew 18:18, CCC 2174-2176), not a papal fiat. Your demand for a direct command ignores apostolic practice.

Phil, Prince of Dim Light, your Adventist jab at Luke 23:55-56, sneering that it proves Sunday-keeping lacks apostolic support, is a weak twist of Scripture to prop up Ellen G. White’s Sabbath obsession..
Regarding Like 23
- Luke 23:55-56 Context: You cite Luke 23:55-56, where women rested on the Sabbath after preparing spices, to argue Luke advocates seventh-day observance 30 years post-Crucifixion (c. 63 AD). This reflects Jewish custom under the Mosaic Law (Exodus 20:8-10), still binding on Jews like the women, who were followers but not yet fully part of the Christian community. It’s a historical note, not a mandate for Christians.
- No Sunday Command Needed: You demand Luke say the Sabbath “no longer applies” or endorse Sunday. Absurd. The New Testament shows early Christians worshipping on Sunday, the Lord’s Day, to honor Christ’s resurrection (Acts 20:7: “On the first day… we came together to break bread”; 1 Corinthians 16:2). Luke 24:1 notes the women visited the tomb “on the first day,” implying a shift. No explicit “old commandment gone” statement is required—apostolic practice, guided by the Church’s authority (Matthew 16:18-19), suffices (CCC 2174-2176).
- Sabbath Fulfillment: Christ fulfilled the Law (Matthew 5:17), making the Sabbath a “shadow” of Him (Colossians 2:16-17). Hebrews 4:9-11 names Christ our rest, fulfilled in Sunday worship. Your demand for a negative command ignores this positive fulfillment, rooted in the resurrection (Mark 16:9).
- Adventist Bias: Your argument echoes White’s *The Great Controversy* (p. 605-612), claiming Sunday is a papal invention. No New Testament verse mandates Saturday for Christians (Romans 14:5-6, Acts 15:28-29)—your Sabbath dogma is White’s 19th-century fiction.

The thing is that her false teachings like Jesus is the angel Michael, and that Jesus entered the Holy of Holies in heaven only in 1844, is false teaching, leading people away from Christ.
When Adventism dies out (normally these deviancies like Arianism etc last 200 years before disappearing) then we can note it as a historical quirk.

Nope. It’s a commandment of God and binding on mankind until heaven and earth pass away... Luke made that crystal clear even 30 years after Christ’s death and resurrection. No man can change God’s law, especially after His death, according to Paul. Never could, never will. Those who say they can are antichrist.
