When ‘non-dogmatic’ information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable.
When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable (‘group-think’ collective), and have ‘free thought’.
"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.

Awake? Not to pick on any one of the camp grounds that got beat up during the Guadalupe flood but it has always baffled me that large groups of people all go to sleep thinking things are fine. In the Corps we always post a “fire watch”. Regardless of unit size, platoon, company, etc. at least one person is awake and on watch, all night. No matter where the unit might be.
While it’s a bit different it just seems that when 700 plus people are bedding down, next to a river or anything, someone should be on watch. In the case of the Guadalupe the water came up during the night. A few minutes extra of yelling and banging on pots might have saved a lot of people. Maybe having a guy working graveyard would be a good idea?

My father was in the Navy during WWII. He was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Jacksonville Fla where he met my mother. They married after the war and he took her back to his hometown of Tulsa Okla where they had their family. So that makes me a warbaby too 😉

Peace? Never had to shoot a hippie before altho I’ve retrained them in other ways. But everything else I’ve ever shot was “peaceful” before it hit the ground. One dumbass at a time works for me. And a learning curve is bound to kick in. Even the local varmits learn to lay low.
Great example is my neighbor’s chickens. As soon as one gets herself chickenhawked the others figger out it’s a good idea to stay under the trees. And they really scoot when they move between trees.
That’s what I was saying up-thread: A few hard hits on the dunderhead class will heckuva promote civility.
