Guess he didn't get the pork he was looking to tack on.

Rand Paul says he’d be willing to negotiate on megabill support

Funny, he didn't have the same disdain for Biden's bill

I would agree with concern about the deficit. There should be regular touting of at least $trillion in budget cuts.

Rand Paul read a book on economics when he was an undergraduate, macro no doubt [robably Samuelson, and thinks like most economists do that his conjectures are reality. The only think that matters is the consequences which are usually contrary to those conjectures.
He is a simpleton with an eye doctor degree and a bad haircut.

Do you have to read a book on economics to know that no one cares about the national debt? Where is Paul wrong?

If they cared, they would do something about it. Gettin pissed at Paul is pointless. We are all going to hit the wall together. This is so unbelievably predictable.

He doesn’t work in the real world. If the bill doesn’t pass taxes go up. Ok, let’s say that is a false option. Let’s put up a “clean” bill that only extends the current tax cuts. The cbo would score that as a debt increase. Would Rand vote for it or not? He would at minimum ask for spending cuts. If he couldn’t get 50 votes for that cut what would he do? Cut taxes and “raise the Debt” or allow taxes to go up? At some point he runs up against real life and has no idea what to do.

The operative emotion here on Rand Paul’s part seems to be simple jealousy.

What kids sometimes refer to as “player hate”.

While that seems incredibly petty, what better explanation fits what we’re all witnessing?

Logically speaking, the bill is coming in at the very tail end of a multi-decade era since 9/11/01 of funding the federal government by way of enormous, retarded and wasteful Frankenbills (CRs or Continuing Resolutions) half-illegitimately custom-designed by house and senate majority leadership in the scandalous absence of Constitutional regular order. There is no way, and there has never been a way, to slow or control federal spending when appropriations are set in this disjointed, ad hoc manner, by CR after CR, onward into the future, like a chicken with its head cut off.

For Rand to relentlessly pile on this one bill, seemingly attributing to it all of the many fiscal sins committed by Congress, year after year, since the very advent of the twenty-first century, is unfair, and he needs, frankly, to stop being such a Mary.

He is a poseur. The choice is to pass the bill or not. He can’t accept that. It has to be his way. He is a child.

He represents his constituents. They know what they are getting from his track record. And you didn’t answer any of my questions.

I would not contribute to him in 2028, but I imagine he will be the Republican nominee for Senate reelection, considering how KY loves its incumbents.

I suspect Massie will be as hard to primary in 2026 as Brian Kemp was in 2022.

I have lived a debt free life, never even had a mortgage. Might explain why I am financially i dependent. have not worked one day since 1999 and enjoyed membership at private country clubs and 56 cruises. Magic of compounding interest is magical.

Living 3 miles from Kentucky I don’t know a single person in Kentucky that likes Rand Paul. Their GOP organization is so corrupt no one even tries there. They hate him but look at the choice they have. And, KY was a traditionally demorat state. You’re question was rhetorical.
