I was just talking about him the other day, as someone was mentioning Henry Mancini.
Rest In Peace, Lalo.
He was really good. He did some of the Clint Eastwood programs too..
Huge loss. RIP.
Huge loss. RIP.
Sounds like he had a very full life doing what he enjoyed.
Reminds me of when America was still America.
RIP. Good stuff!
He was also a fine jazz pianist. Here he is with Dizzy Gillespie:
The opening of MI, with the burning fuse and scenes from the show as the opening. We always knew a great night of TV was on. Also loved T.H.E. Cat, Robert Loggia, tight scripts and jazz. R.I.P.

Theme from Mannix.
Lalo Schifrin set the scene with his music.
Another one from The Great Lalo Schifrin:
Theme Song from TV show Mannix. Exciting and alluring!
Loved hearing it every Friday night the show came on.
One of my favorite intros - Bullitt - Lalos music is so cool and the cinematography makes it shine like a diamond.

If I was young when the Bossa Nova albums came out does it make me old today? (Don’t answer). Bossa Nova: New Brazilian Jazz (1962).
I remember Audio Fidelity ones cost $5.95 instead of the usual $4.95 .
But the Wikipedia list of his soundtracks alone encompasses an enormous amount of music. Murderers’ Row, the Osterman Weekend, the Eagle Had Landed, Enter the Dragon, even Che.
The Incredibles theme song was highly influenced by his composition.
Here is Schifrin playing it live in 1995: https://youtu.be/H5SYHcD_CYA?si=HOi5qH77lFLwRIot
RIP, Lalo.
He composed the beautiful score for the 1985 miniseries A.D. His Dirty Harry music is iconic. God rest his soul.
