I need to get rid of some wildlife in my suburban Atlanta backyard. My biggest problem is wife foxes. I have three that have dug a hole and live in the ground. They are about the size of a medium sized dog.
Here in Southern California, coyotes are the biggest wild predator problem—even in built-up areas. They’re especially hazardous if you have outdoor cats. I live a mile from their habitat in the brush-covered La Habra Hills, but we have lost several cats in our community to coyotes.
I have two dogs
Grok says to get a dog. If you have no dog maybe you could borrow one.
The unmarried foxes are the worst.
Are they causing problems? Sounds like quite the suburban zoo! Stay away from the armadillos since they can carry leprosy. Possums eat snakes, so they’re OK. Coyotes would be next up the food chain. Keep your trash cans in. Good luck!
firecrackers?
recorded dog backing played through a stereo?
spotlight?
solar powered light?
I have no related experience.
I registered my home as a wildlife habitat 15 years ago. Until this year, I have had no problems.
Did you buy this property with the idea of removing all wildlife, or have you found a lot more than you were aware of before settling into your home?
I had a three legged labrachow from the county pound that was perfectly adequate for tackling coons and driving out coyote and wild boar.
Best coon dog ever, would follow directions left or right to push critters out from the backside of tree trunks , and would go after anything he was told to but totally harmless with kids, cats and chickens.
I have all of those protected and no problem.
Some very sound advice. Thank you.
Thanks. I guess the population keeps building if there are not too many predators. May be the right time for some to be culled. Pythons would be effective, but then, you would have the Florida Problem.
“Some foxes eat pet food and once they know that you’re supplying it to the neighborhood animals for free, they’ll certainly be by more often to get their share - and everyone else’s.”
“A major staple of a fox’s diet is rabbits and it was found that both the populations of rabbits are foxes are entirely dependent on one another.”

Rodenator used to be in Emmett, Idaho. Not sure how they ended up in Europe!
My fox wife died several years ago. I’m just now thinking about getting in the dating mode. This might be a sign. :)
Smoke bombs in the daytime.
Get some of those fireworks mortar shells
and toss them in the den.
4th of July is coming up.
No one will pay any attention to the explosions.
You can purchase sub sonic rounds for a 22LR.
They do not break the sound barrier.
Therefore, you do not get the loud crack that a normal 22LR cartridge will give you.
I have used those on my 22 rifle.
At least you don’t have copperheads.
My sil in suburban Portland with close in neighbors FEEDS the critters with sugary cereals..she’s had rats, racoons.possums, squirrels, etc...
What’s wrong with foxes? Do you have chickens?
Wrist rocket or air rifle, local regs apply for the latter, not the first.
