CNN: Hiroshima 'Barely Set Back' By Atomic Bomb

U.S. — CNN has obtained a classified briefing revealing that the city of Hiroshima was "barely affected" after being hit by an atomic bomb.

According to anonymous sources, the briefing states that Hiroshima being hit by a nuke only set back the city "a couple of months" and that all of its industries would be operating as normal shortly.

"Hiroshima escaped with minimal damage," reported CNN's Anderson Cooper. "A few entrances to the city were shut down, but otherwise the city remains completely intact. We have highly classified intelligence which confirms that Hiroshima was not, I repeat, was not incinerated as was expected. The U.S. mission has failed."

Several members of the military and intelligence community have disputed CNN's reporting. "We literally dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima. There was a mushroom cloud and everything," explained a military intelligence officer on condition of anonymity. "I know there's no on-ground confirmation, which is because you can't go in there since it's radioactive and you'll die. Which is, again, because we dropped an atomic bomb on it."

At publishing time, CNN had stood by its reporting and stated it would do so until an American went to ground zero to take pictures.

Say what you will, compare Hiroshima of today with “the arsenal of Democracy” (Detroit) today, and tell me which city survived better.

Hiroshima actually did bounce back quickly. Turns out nukes are pretty handy for urban renewal.

“Our sources indicate that most of the city had been hauled off in trucks and safeguarded elsewhere in anticipation of a possible aerial strike.”

It was a message to the USSR. Japan surrendered when Russia started slicing through Manchuria.

Russia did that on the last possible day according to their agreement with the Allies: Three months after the war in Europe ended.

Japan surrendered because Russia sliced through their army in Manchuria. They were terrified of them since Khalkin Gol in 1939. Sometimes the best way to end a war is picking who you surrender to. They wanted to surrender to the U.S. only. Smart move. It worked out very well for them.

I was right there 2-1/2 months ago, we perfectly timed the cherry blossoms. Hiroshima and all the cities we visited were clean as a whistle, not a scrap of paper anywhere, I may have seen one homeless in 17 days. I liked Japan a lot.

Yeah, they didn’t want to surrender to Russia in the middle of the Red Terror.

Hiroshima is a thriving city today because they never elected a Democrat mayor or city council.

You may have seen homeless without even realizing it. I worked in central Tokyo for five years and would occasionally take a very early morning train in or a late night train home.

The homeless actually roll up their sleeping mats in the connecting tunnels and move them out of the way of the commuter traffic. You almost never see them panhandling. Any who get in the faces of the public are dealt with rather quickly by the police.

Watch her YouTube videoo that I linked to, she is a whackjob, and I think she timed that post to purposefully undermine the President's decision to bomb Iran's nuclear sites.

Japan surrendered because Russia sliced through their army in Manchuria.

Nonsense.

The Japanese held the Russians in total contempt.

Contempt has nothing to do with it. Japan had beaten Russia earlier in the century, but they were scared of them after the 1939 Battle of Khalkin Gol. FDR stupidly did not require Russia to declare war on Japan until 3 months after the war in Europe was over. Japan kept trying to make peace with Russia before the invasion because they knew it was coming.
At midnight on August 9th Russia invaded Manchuria and sliced through the Japanese forces with ease. And the Russian soldiers treated the Japanese with extreme cruelty.

Then why did Japan surrender? Anyway, the Hiroshima bomb was especially dirty because most of most of the fissile material did NOT reach critical mass, and was instead scattered around the city after being irradiated by the blast.

Is that what you meant to write? (Your remark about "being irradiated" is totally superfluous, since the fissile material - enriched U-235 - was already radioactive, and so didn't "need" additional irradiation to be deadly.)

Regards,

Yes that’s what I meant. The missing “not” was the most egregious mistake. But I clearly hate to proof read.
