With all due respect, I would wager you have less experience attempting to date American men than I have. If you’re one of the exceptions, thank you.
Shut up Stella.😇
The large majority of the time neither abuse nor infidelity were the cause of the divorce. The main reason was "just got tired of the relationship/got bored".
I think both sexes have had to worry about that for quite some time.
The risk of birth defects due to the father being older is higher than for younger men but still very very small. I doubt this is much of a biological imperative. Generally speaking women are more attracted to status and resources and males more attracted to youth and appearance. Obviously these are generalities. But many many women do not seem to share your reluctance to have an older mate. I think this is a more recent phenomenon and a particularly western one. You don't see this preference nearly as much in women from other cultures (even Eastern Europe) and you didn't see that in the West so often until fairly recently.
I'd wager I have as much experience dating American men as you do dating American women. :^)
This could lead to an infinite regress à la: The men committed adultery, domestic violence, etc. because their women drove them to it. But the women were driven to it because their men treated them contemptuously. But the men treated them contemptuously because their women withheld sex. But the women withheld sex because...
Regards,
You think my claim is "extraordinary?"
The pitfalls of self-reporting in surveys are axiomatic.
Regards,
So what was it you were trying to say?
Regards,
Insofar as I quoted the Wikipedia article about him, and posted an image of him and his paramour, there was no need for you to lecture me about him - so I'll assume that you posted that for the benefit of the general audience here at Free Republic, who can't be expected to be as diligent and well informed as I.
But maybe you could tell me more about this game "football" repeatedly mentioned in the Wikipedia article: Am I correct in assuming that it enjoys a certain measure of popularity in the U.S.?
Regards,
Football and not baseball, is easily the national sport - far more popular than anything else.
“Football and not baseball, is easily the national sport”
Sadly, you could be right ... NOW. When America was a better place, baseball was the national sport.
Baseball
Hot dogs

She attacked my integrity, which is something that should never be done absent rock solid evidence. She had none and she knew it. It was a desperate act on her part to win and force me to apologize for something I didn't do and she knew it.
I took a year to heal from that relationship. She was a consummate narcissist which I never saw when we lived apart. It showed itself within a month of living together. Thought it was me doing something wrong, it wasn't. She was an emotionally manipulative narcissist and the night I went back home I thanked God that relationship was over.
As for prospects, first date in a year tomorrow with a lovely woman who's 8 years younger. Not sure how I feel about that much of an age gap. She approached me, and had to convince me what I think is an age gap and deal breaker on my part, is no big deal to her.
She's a registered nurse and nurse practitioner at one of the big hospitals here and quite smart. Easy on the eyes too.
Men do have a choice. Keep it zippered until they know something about who they're having sex with. Or maybe even follow the Bible's teachings.
They're absolutely not for equality. They want superior rights for women.
That's right, and as long as men are incapable of thinking beyond their next roll in the hay, they'll get it.
The sad part is, the sexual freedom that men want is what's being used as a weapon against them, but men are too blinded by lust to see it.
No, I don't expect you to understand that.
In that case, women have a choice. Keep their legs together until they know something about who they're having sex with.
That's right, and as long as men are incapable of thinking beyond their next roll in the hay, they'll get it.
Men have been capable of thinking beyond that and have thought beyond that from the start. Many of the supposed "allies" who claimed to be all for equality when the issue was lifting any remaining restrictions on women turned out not to be allies and not to be for equality - only self interest - anytime they were asked to support men having a choice after a pregnancy or in child custody or in divorce settlements, etc.
The sad part is, the sexual freedom that men want is what's being used as a weapon against them, but men are too blinded by lust to see it. No, I don't expect you to understand that.
You'd have to explain what you mean exactly.
Two sons. Neither are dating or are interested. They both have the same view of it: Zero upside, a downside of poverty and alienation from their children.
They are out.
Young men don't see it. As we get older and wiser, it's as obvious as daylight to us.
All this makes me so glad I'm at the stage of life I am, and really don't give a damn' anymore. That's the most liberating feeling right there.
And what are you going to do about it if they don't? Repeat the same thing over and over again? They don't care, so it's up to men to protect themselves.
You'd have to explain what you mean exactly.
If the fact that men spend billions a year on prostitution in this country alone while MRAs are starving for cash isn't enough to drive the point home, then I don't know what will.
I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of their position. They say after a pregnancy results that men had a choice (ie not to have unprotected sex) so once there's a pregnancy, too bad. They should have no choice. BUT AT THE SAME TIME say after unprotected sex results in a pregnancy, that women should have a choice.....ie abortion. That's inconsistent. Women get to choose both before and after but men only get to choose before and should have no choice after? That's not equality. That's massively hypocritical for people who claimed they were all about choice.
If the fact that men spend billions a year on prostitution in this country alone while MRAs are starving for cash isn't enough to drive the point home, then I don't know what will.
Oh no doubt I think men should fight much harder to level the playing field in various areas where they are quite openly discriminated against. But of course, that would be a lot easier if feminists and pro choicers actually believed in equality like they claim to but are always against equality and in favor of superior rights for women in reality. I just think they should have their noses rubbed in their rank hypocrisy and self interest both because they deserve it and because it helps wake more men up to how they are in fact being discriminated against in several areas. Lord knows the corporate media won't talk about it.
I don’t dispute that, lol.
