And then I thought to myself, if we attempted to have such a program today, what would the costs look like? LOL
What I noticed is that the CIA hid their involvement in this research by camouflaging it as a medical research grant.
I wonder how much that is still going on. Hiding the research to create national security weapons that can be called “medical research”. Research that is forbidden in the US because it is too dangerous, but the US funds it in labs in other places such as Wuhan and Ukraine. And in Ukraine the labs were not just researching dangerous biological agents but were also researching delivery systems and had enough of the toxins and a specifically-large-capacity delivery system via drones to use for military purposes.
