The damage is done.
Biles did not stand up for female athletes and try to tear down one who is standing up for females.
She was being “woke” to bring in the clout and did not realize the tide was turning and it backfired.
She needs her “Bud Light” moment so others don’t follow her expample.

The proper thing to do with trans people is to get them the mental help the desperately need.
As far as opening up a trans category in sports goes, the pro trans people tell argue that there are so few of them that it doesn't matter if they compete.
If that is true why bother with a trans sports competition?

I am all for forgiving people who are repentant. I do not feel she is one of them, as Andrea Widburg points out with context.
I have had to apologize a few times on this very website due to my uncivil behavior, and it is not easy to say "I was wrong. Please forgive me." without trying to justify it. I wasn't prodded by sponsors to do it as Simone Biles probably was. I just considered it in my own sphere.
Justifying it detracts immediately, with the first word of justification, and true apologies for the right reasons don't need it, and the people insulted don't want it.

She’s apologizing because she’s feeling the backlash. She ought to! And now that she has gone there, I won’t criticize her looks, but I won’t hold back on calling her a pu$$y for backing out of a competition because she was mentally worn out or whatever that bogus excuse was in 2020. I’m greatly disappointed in SB and I hope that advertisers are, too.

I was mainly commenting on how all over the web and social media; I’m seeing stories a week, a month, a year old posted as if they just happened today and that isn’t mentioned.
What Biles said was disgusting. She did say something later that was complimentary of Riley Gaines however.
I get it. I personally just think Biles is mentally unstable. That is a hard place to be in her position in life. You or I make those comments, it is one thing. She makes them, and it is something else altogether.

I remember she called it having "the twisties" where she thought she might get hurt if she couldn't land properly.
The thing is, in the winter olympics two years later, women's downhill slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin had a mental collapse and fell in every event she entered. She didn't back down, and even entered a team event as a last chance to win a medal.

What I will find interesting is comparing and contrasting the treatment of Simone Biles with Mikaela Shiffrin. Biles wasn't feeling confident of her abilities, so she dropped out at the last minute.
Shiffrin missed the 5th gate in her best event, but went back and tried again and again and again (and fell again each time, probably a mental block).
Biles was praised for being a strong role model for women (to just say no), the danger of falling and hurting herself was cited, and they turned her Olympic failure into a hero moment.
Shiffrin kept trying after each failure, despite the danger of speeding 60 mph down a snowy mountain trail, and she kept giving heartfelt interviews after each failure, vowing to try again in the next event.
I don't hear the same hero-worship for Shiffrin, how persevering instead of quitting is an admirable trait, and how being open and honest with her fans is healthy for her own mind and well-being.
Biles came to Shiffrin's defense yesterday as the hate for Shiffrin began pouring in.
