The WNBA continues to deny OutKick a credential to cover Atlanta Dream games. The team and league claim they can't accommodate our requests due to "very limited space."
We appreciate the emphasis on "very."
Still, no one actually believes the WNBA can't find the "space" for us to cover a regular-season game involving the Dream and Connecticut Sun. WNBA games in June are hardly the Super Bowl, where reporters from all across the country clamor for access.
In fact, the Sun granted several media credentials to OutKick last year, including a playoff game featuring the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark.
What changed? Put simply, Brittney Griner.
The WNBA won't credential OutKick for Sun games because it doesn't want us to ask Griner about a viral clip in which she appears to utter "trash ******* white girl" from the bench in a matchup against the Fever.

Ain’t that the truth.
I see her "retiring" to play professional golf and/or coaching basketball at Iowa.
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner!
I thought no one watched the WNBA anyway? Why should this even be an issue?
I smell a lawsuit. A justified one at that.
You're right but it wont happen.
When I first read about Caitlin Clark I didn’t know if she was black or white or maybe Smurf blue. So I’m reading her stat line every time she played and she’s averaging like 35 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds in college. I’m thinking ‘I’m getting old I haven’t seen this much in my lifetime’ I’m going to watch her. I think in two years Caitlin won’t be playing basketball, she’s going to be an LPGA golfer. I don’t think Nelly Korda would try to beat her up on the back nine.
