and it tastes better. JD was always just paying for image.
You need a new cardiologist!)
How about a 'shine, monkeyshine?
Regards,
I would not be surprised at all since I know that most Americans don’t even have a few hundred extra dollars for an emergency, much less any money saved for retirement.
Eating out daily, a drinking habit, a smoking habit, or even a daily purchased coffee habit = a million+ over anyone’s lifetime.
The sheriff in my hometown went to a convenience store to buy beer. The cleric at the counter told him the 12 pack was cheaper than two 6 packs. The sheriff said he couldn’t drink a 12 pack, sigh. He was in my class and just as stupid back then.
The price of vanilla extract at the store starts at $5+ for a tiny 1 ounce bottle! For $30 and 5 minutes of work you can make 60 oz ($300 cheapest store price). Split a handful of vanilla beans and toss them into a 1.75 liter bottle of vodka today and by December you’ll have gifts for everyone. Start saving small condiment bottles like hot sauce and soy sauce for your “hand crafted artisan” vanilla extract, tie a bow on them and there’s Christmas.
I’ve never been to $tarbucks but bet a splash in your cup would beat them hands down on taste and price.
I have found that while tequila makes me happy and gregarious, and wine makes me subdued and introspective, whisky just plain makes me crazy.
When I think of many of the crazy things I have done in life, there seems to be whiskey involved!
(I don’t drink much anymore, though I did have a few adult beverages when some friends drove me to my 50th high school reunion last Saturday night!)
Yep. Drinking culture as a whole seems to be on the decline. Things Boomers used to do like meet up for Happy Hour after work aren't things that younger generations are partaking in. Gen-X and early Millennials had clubs. Again, not a part of Gen-Z culture.
Young people today don't want to have drinks after work with the same people they just spent eight hours in an office with.
It'll be back. It's all cyclical. Alcohol has been part of the human experience for at least the past 6,000 years.
My gifting a bottle of Jack Daniels to French customs got them to bring out a couple of bottles of their wine and they and I got drunk together, but it cleared up the delay we 4 American soldiers were facing and got us on our way.
Agree. Never liked JD. Mr. GG2 and I prefer Woodford or Jim Beam doubled oaked.
I developed a taste for whiskey as I got older. I’ve never really noticed a difference between the types of alcohol on my behavior, other than beer fills me up faster and makes me sleepy.
I thought that wizard Rand Paul blamed tariffs for declining sales ...
“They can keep that pumpkin stuff, though.”
Gag. Don’t forget the chocolate stout.
As a Kentucky boy I enjoy my bourbon neat every night.
Cost? Well, the government being what it is, the state sees bourbon as a cash cow. Ditto for wine. There is (I believe) excise fee of $1 on every bottle produced out of state.
LOL
That’s easy...they keep price the same then gradually raise it over time while alcohol tax stays the same. Voila...they ae richer.
Koreans were big on JD, it was as good as gold. Training areas were at a premium in the ROK, but I became aware that a large construction site could be purchased for a weekend day of MOUT training with a bottle of JD.
I just read an article on how the GLP drugs decrease the desire for all addictive substances just based on trying to figure this article out.
Of course, they have no clue why; they just know it does.
Super interesting bonus
You joke, but it probably would help.
It cuts back on all sorts of drug relapses.
Basically tells me we know essentially zero about how the brain/body really works.
I love beer. Unfortunately, beer no longer loves me (for health reasons). That makes me very sad.
“chocolate stout”
I tried that. Once. The first few sips were okay, but the rest was terrible.
