Nixon belongs in the top four. Forget about Watergate. It doesn’t matter. What matters is the Gold Standard, China, EPA, Congressional Budget Act of 1974, Hospitals for Profit and other things that still haunt us.

China was a blunder of epic scale. Of course, Nixon elevated China out of weakness, but it led to the deindustrialization of the US. We never should have normalized relations with Communist China while they were practicing communism.

Nixon didn't give conservatives much to cheer about. The worst thing he did was to impose the 55-mph speed limit that even Reagan couldn't get rid of. It took a liberal Democrat, Bill Clinton, to accomplish that.

Nonetheless, Nixon nailed Alger Hiss and saved Israel, for which we should be eternally grateful.

Can you expand upon hospitals for profit? Nixon’s presidency was quite a ways before I was born…I’ve been to his presidential library a few times and that was never mentioned.

I'm a volunteer docent at the Nixon Library, and I have never heard anything about hospitals for profit.

Obama and Clinton are top 2 because they were the WORST for the culture. Biden was evil and greedy, and allowed the leftists to run the government while his family grifted. Carter was mostly incompetent and naive, but did not push the culture rot of Obama/Clinton which ruined America forever.

1...L. Johnson could not honestly manage foreign and domestic policy. The damage is ongoing in both arenas.
2 and 3...Nixon and Clinton, despite some successes, both discredited the presidency.
4...Carter was also a failure in foreign and domestic policy. He weakened America's backbone
5...Wilson started the slide downward from America-first common sense.

Obama gets dishonorable mention for advancing socialism and the Biden/Harris debacle.

I'll leave the pre-civil war chief executives to others.
