Eleven people were stabbed in a church-run homeless shelter in Oregon that is directly across from the local police HQ, according to authorities.
At least one member of staff at the Union Gospel Mission in Salem is among the wounded following the shocking scenes at around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The 11 wounded were rushed to a Salem hospital with “varying types of injuries,” police said.
The suspect, who is in custody, had arrived at the mission the previous night and was about to check into the 150-person ministry again for a second night when he started brawling just as he was supposed to hand his belongings over to staff, officials said.

I know two people who work at this shelter. 1/3 of the homeless there are convicted sex offenders.
I’m glad your story didn’t end with “by a homeless man who followed him home.”
A coworker at the university library a few years ago used to like to have her lunch at a small city park (paved,a few planters of flowers, some trees, next to a small office building and across from the Google building).
Groups of marijuana smoking homeless guys started to rival the decently dressed people. One day one made some crude sexual remarks to her and when she got up to leave he said: “Oh, too good for me, girlie girl? I see you. I’ll remember you. I know where you work.”
Like other decently dressed people, she never went back. It became the lowlife park, not the regular people park.
Although it’s not a lot, there is a contingent of good people in OR and WA and they deserve to be safe. No one deserves to be slashed or stabbed. The woke city ones made their political beds and have to lie in them.
I even heard today Minnesota has large enclaves of GOP voters in the regions outstate from the Somali cities, but the cities overwhelm their votes as they do in Michigan, NY, IL and other states. So we have a city vs. rural cold civil war within our national cold civil war.
