I think they’re going to start shutting down everywhere, and not just because of the crime. In recent years, their prices have soared, the quality of the food has gone down, and the customer service is the worst it’s ever been, I suspect, because of staff shortages. There are lots of other fast food places now that I can pay a buck or two more for a much better product and service.

MONROE, Ohio (WKRC) — New details have emerged regarding an assault at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Monroe, where a woman allegedly attacked an employee over issues with her order.

According to Monroe police, 43-year-old Tia Hatch assaulted a McDonald’s employee after becoming upset with her food order and the wait time. Surveillance footage showed Hatch backing up her car at the drive-thru from the third window, exiting the vehicle, and approaching the second window. She is seen speaking with an employee before returning to the third window, where the assault took place.
Police reports indicated that Hatch twisted the employee’s wrist and swung at her.
A manager at the restaurant called 911 to report the incident.
“She was just down here threatening everybody, just threw a pop at my third window, and was threatening to fight one of my managers to come outside and was literally screaming and throwing a huge fit. We gave her her refund for her food and everything. She only waited like 10 minutes, but she wanted cooked ordered food,” said the manager.
Hatch drove away following the altercation, but the manager provided police with her license plate number, leading to her arrest. Hatch has been charged with assault.
Police body camera footage has been requested but will not be available until next week.

When Ray Kroc was the boss McDs had a policy of never shutting down permanently a restaurant. They might move down the street a block or two and build a new place. In the late 1970s a McDs was built on the very edge of the Cabrini-Green housing project in order to satisfy the needs of the “community”. After years of constant violence and robberies associated with that store...it was the first to bite the dust in the late 1980s I believe.
