Musk says he’s disappointed in BBB saying it ‘undermines’ DOGE’s work

Tech billionaire Elon Musk — who spearheaded the cost-cutting efforts at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — said he was “disappointed” to see the massive legislative package of Republican priorities make it through the House.

“I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit… and it undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,” Musk said in a preview of an interview set to air this weekend on “CBS Sunday Morning.”

The bill — titled the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” adopting Trump’s slogan for the measure — passed the House last Thursday after a series of last-minute negotiations and text changes that proved critical in coalescing GOP support for the legislation.

You’re being impatient, let it play out and if the bill is dead and never passes, then we all should be pissed because it’s Republicans once again blowing it
, until then relax and let the process play out, nothing like this is ever happens fast or without revisions

Expressing disappointment is one thing - any compromise that is acceptable to a majority is going to fall short of everyone’s wishes.

When the pizza ordered by a group of hungry people arrives, it’s one thing to be disappointed, and say “there’s not enough plain” or “there’s too much sausage” - and quite another to say “send it back”.

In order to pass a bill with serious spending cuts, we need a different congress with more representatives willing to seriously cut spending. Yes, I’ll say it - we need more like Rand Paul. But we don’t have that, so that’s not one of our choices.

You go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had.

Our choice is between this disappointing bill or something much worse.

People can say “no more compromising” but that’s just stupid, I’m sorry to say.

I’m amazed we have not heard from the WH yet. That’s my frustration on this

The care and feeding of the genus Senatorus Egoesmus Americanesmus requires a subtle, delicate hand that is best done in private, always leaving the bloviating to the senator.

While this species needs firm handling, they despise above all the public appearance of being handled.

On this I agree with you. The Doge team did remarkable work. And now they and all of us are being stabbed in the back.

lol. I think it’s cool you think that. Sorry to disappoint your vivid imagination, but senate is on vacation until next week.

I think they did ok. Way less results than promised. The communication was poor. The plan haphazard. It’s bad firing people and then say, oops. You weren’t not supposed to be fired. As bad as Cuomo was during Covid, the daily updates did keep the public informed. I think they should have done something like that with a good communication speaker. Elon would not be that person. Hopefully the president will at least send over the 140 billion in cuts to the congress so at least that money can be put back in general funds or better the debt.

Senates on vacation until next week, not sure how they think trump can do anything except go to empty offices.

Plus, it’s too early for Trump to get involved. Like he did on the House, wait until all of the underbrush is cut out and all of the static is reduced to a valid argument, then step in and twist arms.

Reports out of the House are Trump explained to the recalcitrant few how he planned on using rescission for the rest of the cuts….the trillions of dollars of cuts.

Patience is lost in an age where microwave popcorn takes too long.

One more thing.

This is The Hill reporting this. Be skeptical it even happened the way they say it did.

If all the fraud, waste and abuse stays in, at least they won’t be robbing us behind our backs anymore; they’ll be doing it right in front of our faces.

Sorry to disappoint you but we have things like cellphones and video conferencing for people to communicate with and even if the Senate was in session next week nothing is going to happen but Trump and various senators could still be working on a compromise without the senate being in session

Planning for the midterms? He’s been here less than 200 days... He needs to get prosecutions going or we WILL lose the midterms. This was my concern that the GOPe would convince Trump to not rock the boat in fear of losing the midterms and they will lose the mid terms anyways. Then they will say show bipartisanship or else lose in 2028 and we NEED 2028, so the end result is Trump not getting done what he wants, or basically a repeat of his first term.

If the Democrats and the media loved the country, they would offer their help. But their hatred of Trump and MAGA overwhelms everything.

They want the Country to fail so thy can sieze back the power they think they deserve.

Horrible, evil people.

I knew the plural was spelled like that, but thought it was pronounced, “cri-sees”. Didn’t know the “s” is silent.

“The DOGE work doesn’t get discarded - they have exposed the theft, fraud and abuse and put it before the public.”

DOGE has exposed SOME of the corruption. I believe they could work 24/7 for the next five years and still touch only the tip of the iceberg.

As for this bill, each side makes sense in its own way. IMO. Interesting to see what will happen.

It’s a good point they’re opposing for the sake of it and not helping the US

It’s interesting isnt it?

You can only assume they want destruction and devastation even on their constituents? It’s pure Cloward Piven (sp)

I just got the Politico newsletter says Trump has not been near a microphone for 2 days.

Nothing scheduled for today

So it’s a noticeable absence right now
