President Trump in a new post on Truth Social on Sunday night accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of having gone “absolutely” crazy and said if he did not stop what he was doing, it would lead to the downfall of his country.
The social media comments came after Trump had issued some of his toughest comments about Putin earlier in remarks to reporters in New Jersey.
“I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!,” Trump wrote.
“He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever,” Trump said.
“I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!”
Trump then turned toward Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, who he has repeatedly criticized. Zelensky on Sunday had faulted the silence of the U.S. and other countries in the wake of the latest missile and drone barrage from Russia against his country, an assault that killed a dozen people.
“Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does,” Trump said.

So you're telling us that it's our government's job to lie (Gulf of Tonkin) to counter one invasion with our own.
Same song -- different verse that we've used in invasion after invasion since then that always end up the same - a loss and a disaster for the USA.
It's the same old, tired story that has led us to a bloated military machine and budget, that's contributed significantly to our $37 trillion deficit.
So we spend our dollars on launching never-ending wars, leading to massive debts and over a trillion dollars in annual interest, while other countries like China, Russia, and so many others focus on investing in their own infrastructure and people, and not on never-ending war machines.
Smart. Real smart, cowboy.
You're so smart. Maybe you can explain how we can continue down this path without going broke.
South Vietnam was being invaded, do you know which country was invading them during the Vietnam War and conquered them in 1975?
Why won’t you simply name the country?
Mr. ansell2/aka Cowboy,
Here's what I know about Vietnam in 1975. The US running/escaping/surrendering from the country we invaded in 1965 based on a lie that the "commies were going to get us" triggered by the Gulf of Tonkin lie.
I was serving my country when that invasion started in 1965, but thank the good Lord it was not in Vietnam like so many of my brave friends who died for a lie!
You know about the lie like WMDs in Iraq or going to war with the Taliban in Afghanistan, only to be defeated/abandoned/escape, and surrender to the Taliban 20 years and trillions of dollars later.
Them lies and defeats.
You might be the craziest poster here, and you sure don’t know anything about the Vietnam war, or which country invaded and conquered South Vietnam and which countries were the allies of South Vietnam.
Unlike you, I know what I see, cowboy!
I saw this with my own two eyes on the news in 1975? Where were you?
What do you think is happening in that photo?
So far you have described it as “The US running/escaping/surrendering from the country we invaded in 1965”.
Just as I wrote: “The US running/escaping/surrendering from the country we invaded in 1965” and evacuees trying to salvage in 1975 what was left of their lives after we were defeated in the US invasion.
It is a symbol of our disastrous defeat in a war we should never have been involved in, that cost us 60,000 young American lives and who knows how many that came back with missing body parts and screwed up minds who bought into the lies for the invasion.
Look at that image and tell me you think it was worth even one American life!
“””after we were defeated in the US invasion.”””
What country did we invade and who were our allies in that invasion, and who was fighting off our invasion?
I love Russia. I love the Russian people. My wife and two sons are 1/2 Russian, and we live in Russia.
