OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is partnering with Jony Ive, the legendary designer behind the iPhone, to create wearable AI devices that can be “fully aware” of a user’s surroundings and life.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Altman has directed his team to produce 100 million of these secretive “AI companion” gadgets.
The unnamed device, still in development, will be compact—small enough for a pocket or desk—and designed to reduce screen time. Unlike an Apple Watch, it won’t have phone features.
The collaboration between Altman and Ive sounds like a Silicon Valley dream, but skepticism remains. After the Humane AI pin flopped—users returned the $700 wearable due to its bulk and poor performance—many wonder if people will embrace another always-watching AI device.
It’s unclear if the device will record audio or video, or where such data would be stored. OpenAI hasn’t clarified these details. Still, the concept feels eerily similar to Black Mirror’s “The Entire History of You,” where implants record every moment of a person’s life.

It’s not actually about recording interesting events of life. It’s about more real-time training content for the AI. Thus far, AI’s training material is limited to the internet and whatever databases etc., and it has been very successful, but still falls flat. If, with devices like these, AI can get access to infinite, real, interactive content, I will guess AI’s abilities will take off like a rocket. This is bad news.

Yep...You bet! I would not even doubt it will have Facial recognition capability. This is basically a smart camera hooked directly to the WiFi Internet of Things and will be streaming live to cloud storage. But not before it goes through AI filters looking for red flags against Citizens everywhere.

That’s the wrong way to go.
Feed everything you have ever posted online into AI and you can go on posting long after you’ve stopped breathing, and no one will ever know.
Well, maybe if you’re still making references to Get Smart and Gilligan’s Island in the 2090s, people may start to wonder.

We have often seen an interesting action with surviving spouses after the death of one of the spouses!
The survivor often keeps and uses the Apple phone of the deceased one as their only or main phone.
They don’t change the user name.

ATM Machines and Paypoints: “We cannot detect your personal Identification device so you cannot make this transaction”.
MS Windows and all computers period: “Please turn on bluetooth to verify your personal ID approved access”.
Stores and Banks: “Personal ID device required to enter premises.”
Vehicles: “Personal ID device required to start and use this vehicle”.
All for our own Safety, Security, and “convenience” of course.

These will become mandatory before too long... They will become our mandatory personal Identification devices to be carried at all times to participate in society. Travel, Shop, Etc.
Many of us will welcome the relief of having to remember or store dozens of greetings and/or passwords!

More than you think my old friend. But they do not care. It is the new hot stock on the market and money is much more important than the freedom of humanity. And then there are those who are all in and don’t care about the risks because it is “Convenient” and satisfies their own laziness.
