Massapequa Park, LI residents are enjoying some positive vibes, especially when it comes to living there.
The US News & World Report’s new 2025-2026 list of the best places to live in America ranked Massapequa Park at the top of the list for the Empire State, although the Nassau County village is still leagues away from the country’s No. 1 spot, which is a plane ride away.
The close-knit village on the South Shore of Long Island enjoys a strong public school system, nearby beach access and a convenient commute to New York City for those heading to the office.
The list evaluated a total of 850 cities and towns for affordability, job prospects, crime rates and other quality of life indicators — and a public survey gave weight to these criteria to determine the top 250 spots.

Excellent. I’ll send everyone there!
Beautiful there, I was a block from the lake and took my kids and Corgi there a lot. My extremely large, nice apartment just sold as a condo for $700,000.
That is great. I like Kenilworth
Funny how none of these lists ever mention the most important feature: constitutional carry
Um, just not to my ‘hood. Tell them to go to the North side.
Or LOW taxes, or no crime
Kenilworth is great. Had friends there, substitute grandparents to my little kids.
I wonder if there are any such lists from media outlets with actual credibility.
Median home price around $750,000. Wonder what the school taxes are on that? Probably well over $10,000 per year
Carmel, Indiana is nice. I’d live there if I ever left Florida. My sister lives in brownsburg which is also pretty nice. Roundabouts are flourishing in Florida now too.
Way better for busy roads than traffic lights.
It’s still in the Peoples Republic of Washington. Just a few miles east and you would be in the free state of Idaho, yet close enough to easily access certain things that only a bigger city will have. Born and raised in Washington, considered it the best state in the country, now utterly ruined by one party Demoncrat rule. It’s North Commiefornia, another beautiful state destroyed by the Demoncrat minions of the father of lies.
Carmel is roundabout hell. I have great distaste for visiting the place. It’s just not my cup of tea.
I did live in Priest River, Idaho for a few years when my daughter and son-in-law had a beautiful home on ten acres on the other side of the river.
Then a friend called me from WA, said he knew a person with a terrific house on a fenced-in acre on Bainbridge Island. Drove over to look, perfect place for me, my dog and two cats. After the pets died 14 years later, , I couldn’t stand the place, moved to Spokane. South Hill, reasonably safe, nice friends, great stores nearby. Enjoy living here.Never going to move again. Sad, in a way, that I’m outliving lots of friends. .
But gotta stay alive for years because no one else could put up with my b@tchy kitty who bites me every day.
It’s a very expensive place to live Tends to keep the riffraff out
“”and then experiencing 96 degrees with high humidity for a heat index of 112.””
No way would I subject myself to that. Heat with high humidity is a game changer for me.
I lived next door to Massapequa Park... in Amityville.
MP is nice, but nothing spectacular... I live on Long Island... I think there are some superior towns I frequent offen... Northport and Port Jefferson to name just two...
Not sure how they picked MP...
Love Sayville... much nicer than MP
Matzo- Pizza.
