On Tuesday’s broadcast of NPR’s “All Things Considered,” CNN Contributor and Democratic strategist Paul Begala said that the revelations about then-President Joe Biden’s mental fitness don’t impact the credibility of the Democratic Party at all and “I don’t think any Democrat who’s going to be facing voters in the midterms was at all complicit.” And there were “a whole bunch of politicians who understandably were rooting for him and hoping that he was doing fine, but they didn’t know.”
Co-host Mary Louise Kelly asked, “What does this mean to your party’s ability to hold President Trump, his administration, and Republicans accountable for policies, for actions you disagree with? Is your credibility shot is the gist of the question.”
Begala responded, “Not even dinged. Not a bit. I do think that members of the Biden team misled us. Every breath that Donald Trump takes is mendacious. And, just as a political strategist, we are 531 days from the midterm elections. We’ve got prices going up because of tariffs. We’ve got the biggest cut in Medicaid in the history of the country. It’s inconceivable that anybody will give a rip snort about Joe Biden’s health in 531 days when their own health care is being cut and their prices are going up.”

Biden met one on one with members of the media in carefully scripted and edited interview sessions several times during his four years. These sessions were later televised and used in the 24/7 media spin cycle to make Biden look like an effective leader. Every reporter, support staff, editor and management of news channels involved in these sham interviews is complicit in the coverup. The fact none of these interviews were live, and all were staged and edited, is a clear indication Biden was incapable of handling even a few scripted questions reading a teleprompter.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. their aides, and a number of other key Democat politicians such as James Clyburn, met with Biden frequently. They were also complicit in the coverup. Every member of Biden’s cabinet was also complicit. It wasn’t just a few close aides. No doubt the US intelligence agencies were fully aware of his condition.
In spite of the efforts of Democrat politicians, administration officials, members of the bureaucracy, foreign leaders who met with Biden, and the media Biden’s deteriorating condition was so bad it was clear to anyone with eyesight and a brain Biden was not capable of performing the job. His stumbles and falls were frequent enough in public they appeared in news reports. His brain fades while reading from he teleprompter, his wandering away during ceremonies, the need to have staff lead him off stage, his sniffing of the hair of women and children were all shown on television.
Only a complete fool couldn’t tell the man was suffering from dementia. His few press conference were infrequent and carefully orchestrated. His calendars frequently showed no activity during the day. Every weekend he trotted off to Delaware to hide. Plus the fact the White House constructed a phony Oval Office studio for his public appearances in the White House demonstrated the high need to completely control his environment.
The same press that condemned any questioning of Biden’s fitness refused to refute the claims of incompetence by demanding the White House release Biden’s detailed medical records. They even failed to pursue Biden’s public claim in a 2022 speech he was suffering from cancer.
The fact the press is not calling Begala and others out on the obvious lies about the coverup demonstrates the media is still 100% a propaganda mouthpiece for the left’s agenda and the Democrat party. The shills are 100% involved in the coverup, not in truth telling.

He’s right. Nothing that Democrats do harms their relationship with their base. Independents are another matter. These people still have some functional brain cells (unlike Democrat voters). A true Democrat voter NEVER changes his vote.

Paul Begala has always been pretty full of himself, which in the common view, is not altogether much different than being just plain full of - well, crap.
We know a gaslight scheme when we see one, Paul. The Democrats ARE hurt, as a result of the coverup of the absolute shredding of the health and mental acuity of Joe Biden, much more than many will admit, but they know it in their hearts.
You have to have credibility to lose it.
