Ex-Vikings player rips Minnesota AG as state sues Trump to keep trans athletes in girls sports

Former Minnesota Vikings and University of Minnesota football player Jack Brewer shared a grievance with Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison.

The AG is waging a legal battle against President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice to ensure transgender athletes can continue participating in girls sports in the state. The state's ongoing defiance of Trump's executive order to keep girls sports female has resulted in a controversy involving a transgender pitcher who has dominated a girls softball season.

"Clearly, Keith Ellison, the attorney general of Minnesota, has never played any major sports," Brewer told Fox News Digital.

"It’s like he’s never stepped foot in a real locker room, especially not one where the sport demanded true athleticism, grit and toughness. It’s embarrassing to watch a Black man stand before the nation and promote boys competing against girls."

The White House has responded to the lawsuit, condemning Ellison for taking legal action to enable trans inclusion.

"Why would a grown man sue the Trump administration to allow other biological males to participate in women’s sports? This is creepy and anti-woman," White House spokesperson Harrison Fields told Fox News Digital.

Brewer played four seasons for the Golden Gophers from 1998-2001, then started his NFL career with the Vikings in 2002. He also raised his children in the state.

"The state has veered so far off course that it’s doing the exact opposite of what it once stood for. It used to be a national leader on Title IX and women’s rights. Now, it’s destroying women’s sports, degrading women and promoting situations where men are physically dominating women," Brewer said.

There should not be a separate division for girl sports. Set up a division based on some key factor such as height or weight, similar to wrestling weight classes. Keep separate locker rooms, and let the athletes determine who can use which locker room by majority vote.

Other than figure skating and beach volleyball, nobody wants to watch girl sports anyway. And breaking into smaller people classes gives little guys a chance to succeed in sports instead of just watching.

That would take some getting used to, but we all got over having women in traditional men occupations, and we can get used to this as well.

They’re A-OK with women being grievously hurt by men playing in women’s sports:

Women have always been welcomed into the NFL. The fact that there are none points to the fact that women cannot be competitive with men in sports. This was the reasoning for Title IX.

It’s time for someone to introduce legislation to do away with Title IX to put everyone on record.

Yeah we just "got used to" women who were put on shorthanded teams and seldom, if ever left the wire,....making shorthanded teams even more shorthanded. We should just get used to women who can't carry gear or extra munitions. We should also get used to wymyn fire chiefs who think if a man is in a burning building, well he's just in the wrong place.

We should just get used to men in women's sports, and women not being competitive for those awards and scholarships.

I wonder if this guy's family just "got over" women being in "traditional occupations for men," or his heroic actions being attributed to the woman who didn't fire a shot?

You could add the service academies to the list. That ship sailed in 1976 BTW, knew one of the women in the 1st class at West Point. They were class of ‘80.

It irks me that trans types ignore studies showing men have up to 90% more strength than women in their upper body due to male-only factors like differences in muscle mass and hormonal influences.

I agree with the service academies.....I didn't mention them for the sole reason - there are administrative, medical, etc positions women can do well, and should be allowed to do, in the military (particularly under the principle "free a man to fight").

No, this does not mean motor-T and other "non-combat" positions that are just a lie, because they are combat positions.

Those women do deserve to have officer representation and leadership, and those candidates should be afforded the opportunity to attend the service academies....I do not think the classes/courses should be co-ed.

VMI and The Citadel are state schools - they can go back to Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership at Mary Baldwin, and the like.
