"Article III Project" founder Mike Davis urges President Trump to suspend the writ of habeas corpus to repel the "invasion" of illegal aliens, Saturday on Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast
STEVE BANNON: Just because we're hurtling toward a constitutional crisis on many fronts, what’s going to happen here? They went to San Francisco because, to a casual observer like myself, it looks like they're going to get the most radical appellate court—the Ninth Circuit—and get a stamp of approval there. Then this goes to the Supreme Court with backing. What’s your take on timing, seriousness, and when this will get to the Supreme Court?
MIKE DAVIS: Fortunately, in President Trump’s first term, there was an 11-seat advantage for Democrats on the 29-member Ninth Circuit. Trump reduced that to only a 3-seat advantage and appointed rock-solid constitutionalists like Lawrence VanDyke, Patrick Bumatay, and many others. It's ironic that the man who prepped John Roberts for his nomination hearing before Congress was Fred Thompson, an attorney and former senator, but popularly known as an actor on TV's Law and Order. The left soils itself calling Trump a "reality TV star", ignoring his vast negotiating and infrastructure experience. Quite ironic.
Many on FR were interested in Fred Thompson's 2008 run for president—better him than McCain; but alas, the news media nominated McCain, early sensing which of the two would have made the better candidate against their favorite. Because most certainly, better Thompson than Obama.
Sad.
Never.
