'Chicken' Vladimir Putin 'a no-show for Turkey peace talks with Zelensky'

Vladimir Putin will not show up for peace talks because his 25-year stranglehold on Russia ends if he yields, experts say.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has agreed to an offer of direct talks aimed at achieving peace, but Moscow said it would refuse to honour a ceasefire before and during any meeting.

The showdown was tentatively set for Istanbul with US President Donald Trump saying he would show up, but the meeting has yet to be confirmed.

The apparent foot-dragging by the Kremlin was seen as a deliberate ploy to continue a bloody war with its neighbour that has rumbled on for more than three years and left at least 250,000 dead.

Anton Gerashchenko, former deputy minister at the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and a trusted lieutenant of Zelensky, said: “Why is Putin stalling for time, lying, and clinging to the war? His power relies on war.

"Z" knows very well and so does the EU...that the meeting would never come about.

My question...Was "Z" going to wear green or his dress (cough cough) black.

Putin is stalling (not) because “Z” already tipped everyone off about his incoming weapons and supplies during any Cease fire.

“2000-3000 fighters over airspace”???
You need to put down whatever it is you are smoking.

“1000 plane bomber raid, there aren’t that many bombers in the world” Everybody has heard it before.

There are so many f-18s, f/a 18’s, f-16’s, f-15’s, mirages, ect. ect.. ect.. If your going to make it work, you need total control over the battlefield. The fighters exist, trained pilots would be the issue, but you could easily put ‘NATO’ pilots over Ukraine territory, and let the Ukrainians fly into Russia. Like Vietnam or Korea with the Russians.

Peace first, when Vlad the Invader decides to be against that, there are plenty of fighters.

It’s clear someone doesn’t want this war to end.

>>>”NATO should ship large amounts of aircraft so that Ukraine can enjoy air superiority -2000-3000K fighters over airspace.”<<<

Um, even if the Europeans were crazy and stupid and stupid enough to send every single aircraft they have, it would only amount to 1,899. Where to park them all in Ukraine? Talk about juicy targets for Russian missiles! And who will fly them? Remember the long struggle to train a few Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16s? And how in the end Lindsey Graham was begging for retired NATO pilots to volunteer to fly them? It’s not as if just anybody can hop in one of those things and magically become an ace fighter pilot. And who will do the maintenance they require?

No, these aircraft would have to fly out of third countries operated by NATO air crews. Who is going to volunteer to make their country a first target in WWIII? Who will risk their aircraft and air crews?

>>>”Simultaneously, artillery, Tanks, APC in huge volumes so Ukraine can achieve a break out for fast moving armor.”<<<

Uh, remember when we had to send Ukraine DU shells because we had already sent all the conventional 120mm shells we and the Europeans could spare and our cupboards were bare?

While we and the Europeans have tried to ramp up shell production, it’s been slow going and no match for Russia’s ramped-up production. There’s a reason the ratio of shells fired is 7-1 to 10-1 in the Russians’ favor.

So far, the “fast moving armor” the West has sent to Ukraine has mostly ended up in smoking heaps in places like Bradley Square and Kursk. What’s more, Western cupboards have grown lean and there are few to spare now. Besides, columns of western armor gifted to Ukraine attempting to make a breakout didn’t fare so well in the famous “summer offensive”. Remember how they were going to break through and retake Crumea? Didn’t happen. They were mired down in mine fields and obliterated.

I don’t know who “bib 1” is, but one need not be exceptionally smart, just reasonably informed, to see through the hokey tabloid sensationalism.

Of course there are people who enjoy this stuff, enjoy having their emotions tickled, never mind how nonsensical the premise.

Translation: Your Zelensky, with encouragement from the EU, is looking for any excuse not to engage in serious peace talks.

No, it's a shame Zelenksy doesn't do that.

Everything you think is true of Russia IS true of Ukraine and we've wasted at least $200 billion on it.

This blather is proof, BTW, that the British government does not want peace in Ukraine and is working to undermine the peace talks.

Yeah, like Nixon showed up at the Paris Peace talks. Not.

There’s a reason heads of state don’t engage in initial negotiations.

Sometimes, they do meet for a “historic summit” once negotiators have finalized everything and come to an agreement, as in the case of Reagan and Gorbachev’s famous Reykjavík Summit.

I doubt you’d like Putin’s replacement. Medvedev and far worse are waiting in the wings.

It’s a silly ploy. Since when did heads of state participate in initial negotiations?

And since when was a ceasefire required? The Paris Peace talks went on for five years while fighting continued in Vietnam. Peace talks during the Korean War were also conducted while fighting raged on. And neither Truman nor Eisenhower showed up personally.

Erdogan’s Turkey if full of rabid Islamist Jihadi’s.

I suspect Putin might be in serious danger there.

Trump expresses his friendship with Erdogan. I am not going to speculate what President Trump has on Erdogan.

They both fight a deep state. But in Erdogan’s case, the Kemalists are a lot more sane than Erdogan. Erdogan thinks he is about to be the next Sultan and restore the Ottoman Empire.

The Russians must be putting LSD in the water in Kiev. This is nuts. Who has all that? The USA, that’s who? The rest of NATO has next to nothing. The Ukraine doesn’t have the manpower to use all those weapons. That would mean US personnel.

Kiev, Ukraine? Not me.

Who has all that, NATO. Don’t need to use NATO to invade Russia, let the Ukrainians do it. Just Guard Ukrainian airspace and territories. Something like the Russians did with Vietnam and Korea, without ‘being involved’. Yes, the US has literally 1000’s of fighters in storage or semi-outdated. Thousands more Bradleys, Tens of Thousands more tanks, Thousands more aircraft, ect.. Now you got European Union trying to ‘flex’ and get people actively involved in the war. Here in the US War is quite an industry. Much political and monetary resources going to the ‘military industrial complex (MIC)’. If Putin wants to back the M.I.C. and empower the deep state, he should go ahead and not show up to the peace talks.

I would prefer a peace talks, and a resolution to the Ukrainian war, with far fewer ‘disposable’ Russians and Ukrainians getting killed. If not going that way expect numbers of aircraft and weapons, and many ‘european’ volunteers from the coalition of the willing as Putin helps to strengthen the EU and the MIC here.
