Never heard of Kist.
It was a soda. My grandparents used to have it.
Around Cincinnati and neighboring area Barq’s was sold.
Good root beer,cream soda,lemon-lime.
Used to be more variety, now many stores have HUGE Coke and Pepsi displays.
Like so many things that went from numerous options to just one or a few national brands.
Pepsico is still the largest snack food company...
Yes, and I eat them with my Dr. Pepper............or Sprite.............
I used to like Rondo.
Some said Coke bought it and closed it down.
I’d rather drink ginger ale than Sprite. Wouldn’t most people? Add up all the ginger ale sold under different brand names and it would probably top Sprite’s sales.
If Fanta were #1, WWII would have been in vain.
Just be glad it’s not Fresca.....................
My neighbor would buy it by the case loads when i was a kid.
His old lady would use it as a vodka mixer..
It’s strong but smooth at the same time. My grandma introduced me to Vernors many years ago and always had her fridge stocked with them. I always raise one to her when I have one!
Pepsi is low class
Baja Blast is my new favorite
I almost never drink soda, maybe an ice tea w/o sugar and carbonation instead.
In Canada, French-Canadians were called “Pepsi”, because they preferred it over Coke, because it was cheaper, it was an insult implying they were low-class.
Their greatest commercial:
November 30, 1984, during the ‘Cola Wars’
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf1A8Ukk5Us
It was so good, Coca-Cola called them and asked that it be pulled, and they did.
The ‘Professor’ was played by actor William O’Connell, (1929-1924) a lifelong friend of Clint Eastwood’s and appeared in many of his movies..............
The next time I have one, still have some in the fridge and a carton on the floor, I’ll make sure to stop and think of your grandma. They are the most precious givers of love and their memory should always be cherished.
I remember Third Watch; that was a must-watch for me back then. It had such a large—and good—cast. I still see so many of them pop up in various shows. That’s funny that Jason Wiles is the dad from the Fansville commercials; just like you, I thought he looked familiar…but I’m not sure I would have ever put it together. Now I see it.
Blast from the past! 🤩

Yep, Kim Raver is on her 16th year of Grey’s Anatomy. Michael Beach shows up everywhere, Amy Carlson did eight years on Blue Bloods and Molly Price is a semi regular on the new Elsbeth show.
