Clearly unconstitutional.

I believe in freedom of SPEECH which does NOT include stopping Jewish students going to classes or any of the usual ‘hate actions’ liberals love to inflict on others.

I haven’t heard much about what’s actually in the bill but anything about “hate speech” automatically seems a bit dodgy and unconstitutional.

I agree. It seems anything negative about a Jewish person or community is considered anti-Semitic. Look at what has been done with the n-word.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will not ever hurt me. Appears there are a lot of mush brains out there!!

When it is no longer in aid of Muslim terrorist led universal domination I will agree that such laws should be unconstitutional. As Yogi Berra once said "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is."

Speech that leads to disruptive violence and denial of every citizens constitutional rights is not protected by the first amendment. Right now hate speech rules have been directed at right wing fascism that seeks to defend US citizens and their rights under the constitution.

“ We’re either a free society governed by the Constitution, or we’re not. We need to challenge hate with reason, not censorship.””

So me and a group of 6,000 friends can show up to counter protest to demonstrate our fight to free speech? Sure, let’s do it!

Of course he does. The Bill on its face is unconstitutional.

Does the Antisemitism Awareness Act outright ban antisemitism speech on college campuses, or does it say they remove govt funding if they do it?

If it's the latter, I say just remove govt funding for college...period.

“...We need to challenge hate with reason, not censorship.” Oh yeah. That really worked with Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Franco, Mao, Bin Laden...

Rand needs a judge in his pocket that can simply kill the bill.

After one group is ‘protected’ there will be another group with special protection, then another until only white Christian men remain.

Guess I must have missed Paul’s irateness when thousands of J6ers were charges for expressing their free speech rights or those arrested for peacefully demonstrating outside abortion clinics or the individual who’s meme got his falsely convicted and jailed..

You can’t reason with Muslims. As for leftists, they are the antithesis of reasonable. But this is all because of our immigration policies of the last 20 years or so. Cultural clashes of immigrants is a big factor that led to the downfall of Rome.

Rand does have a point, yes.
Free speech is a founding principle of our country.

BUT... we are not talking about “Free speech” on these campuses. Not
in anything approaching the pure and lofty implication of that phrase.

We are witnessing organized mob incitement, harassment, intimidation, threats, and yes in some instances even violent physical assaults -— these are criminal acts in any decent society including I believe all 50 USA states.

If we are only experiencing a peaceful, civilized speech or debate ... one lacking the threats, mob intimidation, etcetera....and a civil speech WITHOUT the provocations, “fighting words” (which are already illegal, of course), then I would agree with Senator Rand.

He is fighting for an ideal concept (one which I, support and agree with). But, regrettably, he is not addressing the actual problems we are confronted with out here “in the real world.”

Respectfully,
fhc
