I listened to Art Bell during a period around 25 years ago when I could keep late hours. It was kind of addictive. I haven’t listened to it in a long time.

You can still hear old Art Bell shows 24/7, no charge, on internet streaming services like Streema.com. George Noory and his several fill-ins can’t hold a candle to Art, with the exception of George Knapp. The current show is a pale imitation of the older show; even the callers are dimwitted (or drunk). Noory is unable to carry on a thoughtful, interesting conversation with his more scientifically-minded guests, so he has a lot of crackpot guests — women who can divine your pet’s past lives over the phone, etc.

Art Bell - My absolute favorites were the Cydonians. Once the Face On Mars happened, people made beaucoup bucks describing and “proving” the Face and the Martian Pyramid Complex near the Face. “Experts” would be Art Bell guests, and talk for hours. When I listen to them, reminds me of the psychotic and delusional. They can talk for hours, make all sorts of connections, seem ‘brilliant’ and it is all garbage.

The local FM radio station (KID) in Idaho Falls is the affiliate that had Rush Limbaugh and Art Bell when I first arrived in Pocatello in 2000. Over the years, the radio station has had different management. Over the last 5 years, the station decided that having a local "drive time" talk show from 4 PM to 6 PM was so important that all of the shows that follow (Lars Larson, Joe "Pags") got pushed into a 2 hour delay. The consequence is the first hour of Coast To Coast is never played on KID from Monday to Friday. You have to stream the show from another city where the full show is on or have a Coast To Coast membership. I have the latter and now that I don't have to get up for work in the morning anymore, I can listen again.
